Pat Gamble is in red along Rod Rook-Chungong, today Jabari Hunt was starting at NT and Antonio Simmons at SDE with Tyler Stargel behind him and Francis Kallon behind Hunt and Brentavious Glanton could travel. CPJ said they both COULD be back for Duke, but they won't announce until Thursday. Both Gamble and Rook should be back sooner than later.
Freddie Burden has been practicing all week and is good to go.
CPJ said that 7 offensive two-deep players are out and unable to practice right now. Tim Byerly, CJ Leggett, Chris Griffin, Mike Summers, Qua Searcy, Broderick Snoddy, Nathan Cottrell are all out indefinitely. Byerly is having surgery on his torn ACL and may apply for medical redshirt waiver to play next year. CPJ said he will discuss what Tim wants to do but he would love to have him back for another year.
CTR said this is a different Duke offense, very run oriented even in odd situations.
CPJ said that Mikell Lands-Davis and Harland Howell could play this week. He said he thinks Quaide Weimerskirch still needs one more week to be ready.
CPJ said this is the most injuries he has seen in college football and he is advocating adding another 10-15 scholarships to the FBS because of that or relaxing the redshirt rules to allow kids five years to play five instead of four to play five or allowing freshmen to just play special teams and no offensive or defensive snaps.
