The team did not have a full scrimmage in Bobby Dodd but instead practiced at Rose Bowl Field and then did some scrimmaging as well as some special teams walk thrus.

CPJ said they played a little at the end and the defense had their day and they out played the offense. CPJ said the defense did as well as they have all spring.

CPJ said the offense fumbled the ball several times and dropped some key passes.

JT only ran a few series, Tim Byerly ran most of the one offense and Chase Martenson ran the twos. Matthew Jordan was out with a head injury. He will be back next week.

Shamire DeVine was out again with an undisclosed injury. Clinton Lynch was also out today with a minor injury.

CPJ said P.J. Davis played well as did all of the DTs. "We had a hard time blocking our interior guys especially the second group."

CPJ said it was hard for either Quaide or Leggett today because of the OL was struggling so bad.

CPJ was particularly upset with Trey Braun, Bryan Chamberlain and Errin Joe, he singled them out as not playing well on Saturday.

Chris Griffin's ACL surgery was successful, CPJ said he is unlikely to return to play in 2015 though. CPJ said he tore it playing pickup basketball in January.

CPJ said he was happy to see the defensive guys trying to compete. CPJ said Shaun Kagawa had some nice hits and Lance Austin had a couple of nice hits both at the safety position.

CTR said the defense played with some good energy today. Said that KeShun Freeman and Kenderius Whitehead made some plays at the end spots. CTR said they are cross training all the ends to play both spots. Said Whitehead chased down a quarterback from behind. CTR said that today was better than yesterday for Whitehead, but still has a long way to go, but he was pleased with his effort.

CTR said they got very lucky last year at DT with the lack of injuries and they are really focused on building depth there this spring.

CTR said they are rolling different safety groupings to keep from having two guys too clicked together to the point where they struggle playing with a sub. He said they can have too much non-verbal communication when you get too comfortable with the guy next to you so he is mixing up Golden and Smith with younger guys at times.

Lynn Griffin is backing up at corner and starting at nickel, they are aiming to get one of the young true freshmen ready who will enroll in June to play this fall.

CTR said they are rolling all the young safeties, the Austin twins, Kagawa, Marvin, and Johnson alternating with the ones, twos and threes.

CTR said Johnson is very competitive and he has a lot of pride in his performance but is still knocking the rust off. He hasn't played football in almost two years.

CTR said Lynn Griffin is doing well and they are cross training him all spring.

CTR said the play of the day was from Adam Gotsis who ran down a back on a swing pass out of his blitz redirection. Saved the first down from happening.
