CTR said that VaTech seems to be doing better offensively with Michael Brewer bak healthy. Said they are much better protecting the ball now compared to last year.
Brant Mitchell said he is able to call the fronts now and make most of the decisions he needs to make at LB. Said he is still backing up Tyler Marcordes at the Falcon LB spot in the 4-2-5 and is starting at MIKE in the 4-3.
Brant Mitchell says he spends tons of extra time with CAM and in the film room on his own preparing for each game and he is getting more comfortable with his role and what is asked from that position in the defense.
CTR did not say which defense they will start in against VaTech the 4-2-5 or 4-3.
CTR said that Anree Saint-Amour has earned more playing time and will rotate in a lot more going forward. Vic Alexander is another guy to keep an eye out for going forward with PJ Davis still battling ankle problems.
A.J. Gray is still in red and not practicing, no timeline given on his return yet. CTR said that Shaun Kagawa did okay in his limited reps in place of Gray last week. Played around 8-10 snaps.
CTR said that he is looking for better tackling and that was a huge issue last week as far as getting off the field. They have rested some of the vets this week for the first practice or two to refresh their legs, but CTR said that everyone is back at work now.
CTR said they are sticking with just Pat Gamble, Kyle Cerge-Henderson and Francis Kallon for the VaTech game. Jabari Hunt will be back for Miami after serving his suspension. Said the injury to Adam Gotsis still really hurts.
