Antonio Simmons is relishing his role as the pass rush guy. Playing about 15-20 snaps per game, Rod Rook-Chungong said he really likes the way CMP is rotating with him. Simmons says he plans to increase his sack total each week with his role as pass rusher.
Rook-Chungong said the four-man DE rotation is working really well, Simmons said that Pelton does it by feel and down and distance, so they have to keep their heads in the game the whole time because they can go in at any play.
P.J. Davis' nickname is Seabiscuit. His mom named him after the horse because he was smaller than the other guys playing football just like the horse was smaller, but he overachieves just the like horse. They wear Seabiscuit jerseys to the games.
CJS said the reason some of the CBs are playing off in man coverage is because they are waiting on calls and don't want to be out of position.
CJS said that Dorian Walker played very well in his role, Lance Austin can play either corner so if Step Durham can't play they have flexibility. Said that Lamont Simmons and Dorian Walker may be the better cover guys while Step Durham, Lance Austin and Meiko Dotson are the bangers and better in run support and zone coverages.
CJS said the reason why he subbed Dorian Walker for Lamont Simmons is he felt like Walker was a better matchup for the Miami WRs. Said you could see Simmons and Walker together on the field as they progress this year which would be a much more athletic duo and faster. Simmons still needs to improve his tackling back there though.
