After practice Monday, Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson said he believes that his sophomore safety Jalen Johnson was wrongly arrested and he will not suspend or act on the matter until the police resolve things.

"I think I would urge everybody to let all the facts come in and let the investigation unfold. Then we will make an appropriate action and statement," Johnson said. "Guys are innocent until proven guilty. Just because it happened (he was arrested) doesn't mean he is guilty. Let's let the facts play out and we've talked to several people and the police are still investigating what happened and we will go from there."

Jalen Johnson is not suspended and it sounded like Paul Johnson expects his sophomore safety to be exonerated.

"If there needs to be punishment we will issue it, but it will be in line with the offense," he said. "Until we come to some determination (he can play). I think in this country you are innocent until proven guilty and if it was a slam dunk and we knew what happened then you act. You wait to find out the facts. I'm not sure this will even be an issue when it all plays out."

Practice was okay

CPJ said they made some plays but were never consistent on offense, but hit big plays.

Said they didn't get them cutoff up front and missed a couple of reads and never got in a rhythm which is fine if you hit big plays like we were.

CPJ said he expects personnel changes at KR. CPJ said nothing surprises him, said guys have to help Lance Austin stay in the end zone, said there is no standard rule, but they told all of them not to return anything in the end zone and he came out anyway. Said they will be working on that this week.

CLO said they have six different return guys getting reps.

CPJ said that he think JJ Green will be back soon and he is not lost for the year or anything, hopeful that there is an outside shot he can play this week.

CPJ optimistic about PJ Davis playing against UNC.

CPJ said the game was more exciting than it needed to be. Fumble in third QT was the killer with the QB/BB, said that drive would've put the game away then the KR fumble after that and couldn't get them stopped until the final drive after that.

CPJ said the defense needs to play better and they all need to coach better, said they can do better as a staff. Said that some of the communication issues were cop-outs sometimes, but there were a couple of plays when CTR had issues getting the play in quickly enough, said they are sorting that out. Said he thinks the players can play better, but he is responsible for what people are seeing

CPJ thinks they will be better, said UNC is the best team they've played on offense so far.

Justin Thomas was very flattered and humble about his player of the week honor. Said that he hopes to play that way the rest of the year with that level of production.

CBC said that is as good a performance as he has had from QB during his time as a coach.

CBC said that he wasn't thrilled with the B-back production against Duke, it was okay. Even though Marcus Marshall and Marcus Allen only got #2 snaps all week he expects more from them.

CLO said that JJ Green's injury should help guys like Qua Searcy and Lynn Griffin get a little more involved in the offense.

Clinton Lynch said the trust between JT and the receivers both WR and AB is very high and that is part of why the passing is going so well.

Will Bryan talked about playing more loose, said he was thinking way too much instead of being more physical and that he did a better job this past week, but he needs to keep working on playing loose.
