Parkview's Chambers 'hard to defend'

Parkview quarterback Jack Chambers is committed to Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers might have to sweat that one until Signing Day if the Parkview quarterback continues with the season he's having.

Chambers passed for 404 yards last week in a 48-9 victory over Brookwood. He also has rushed for more than 282 yards in three games, one that was called at halftime and another in which he played only one second-half series. Chambers has played barely eight quarters.

"Jack is the true definition of a dual-threat quarterback," Parkview coach Eric Godfree said said. "His accuracy passing and his ability to run the ball make him very hard to defend. He throws well from both the pocket and on the run. He also has wide receivers who will go get the ball. When he runs, he rarely gets tackled by one person."

Chambers, whose 3-0 team faces a big test against No. 2 Grayson this week, is the newest entry onto GHSF Daily's Player of the Year Watch, which remained fairly stable for the second consecutive week.
