As the end of the MLB lockout looms, I'm curious to know what y'all would do if you were calling the front office shots for the Braves and money wasn't a major isssue.
Here's what my roster would look like. Not going to happen probably, but a man can dream.
(Sorry not sorry Oz*na)
$'22 - player - (UFA) - contract terms
More recently though, I have started to see the reasoning behind letting Freeman walk and signing a younger Matt Olson instead. That said if we were the Yankees, Freeman would surely be locked up.
This roster with our current pitching rotation + a few new guys would still put us on the books for a lot less money than 6 other teams and would surely lock us in for a few more championships.
It's my opinion that Soler & Freeman both deserve to get paid. They carried us to a World Series and should get compensated for their success.
From a pitching standpoint, I think if you could sign Kershaw to a two year 40 million dollar deal, you do that immediately. If this means trading for Olson and letting Freeman walk, you do it.
Imagine the 2022 playoffs with a starting rotation of
1. Fried
2. Anderson
3. Morton
4. Kershaw
5. *Soroka
Ynoa
Wright
Toussaint
