After watching some film on Nesbitt and Tevin, I noticed that we had very little negative plays where Lbs were running free in our backfield. The lineman that we had then were not more talented than the lineman we've had the last few years. I put some of the blame on JT for lineman whiffing on Lbs. Tevin and Nesbitt found a lot of yards between the hashes and cut back lanes in the TO game. If LBs have no fear of giving up intermediate to long runs in the tackle box when tackles crash the dive, they are aggressive to run to the perimeter and our lineman can't get leverage, its almost impossible with the amount of space between them. If JT changed his mindset and ran it up in there and found some cut back lanes early in the game, this would make a huge difference in the TO game because now the LBs are going to keep their shoulders squared creating a better angle for our lineman to cut them off. Until that happens, against teams with superior athletes we are going to struggle to run the TO. 2014 with JT was the first time we've had a QB that could beat people to the edge, so now everyone is worried about containing JT and he isn't adapting and getting up field. I say give Matthew Jordan a few series, I think he can keep LBs honest in the run game. I love JT and what he's done for GT football but with the way teams are playing us, we need 2-4 yards when things aren't perfect and I think Matthew Jordan can give us that.
