Georgia Tech beat out Arkansas, PItt, and SMU for Postma's commitment.
Postma and I spoke several times throughout his recruitment. He always spoke highly of Coach Dixon, his primary recruiter. Dixon, Wiesehan, Patenaude, and even Coach Collins all played a factor in this recruitment.
"I've had great conversations with each of them," Postma said last week. "They've been keeping in touch with me, making me feel like a priority. They've showed me how they use their tight ends in their offense. It is a great setup and a great opportunity."
From the moment he was first offered, Postma was intrigued by everything Georgia Tech had to offer.
"He (Dixon) was telling me all the positives about the school, and explaining to me the offense," he said back in April. "They told me that switching to the spread offense they are running, they need tight ends that are going to be versatile and are athletic. He told me I have the make-up of all those traits."
His decision comes sight unseen, but Postma's got an idea of the program he's committing to.
"I've never been to Atlanta," Postma said. "I understand the culture of the city of Atlanta though, and the fanbase around the program."
Postma mentioned that education and life after football were going to play a large factor in his decision. He said on multiple occasions that distance was not going to play a factor.
Now, he's committed to Georgia Tech.
