New DC at UGA

Kirby Smart will bring UGA’s new defensive coordinator from Alabama with him, according to FOX Sports Bruce Feldman.

It’s Mel Tucker, Alabama’s defensive backs coach under Smart. Both will serve on the Crimson Tide’s defensive staff through Monday’s national championship game.

Tucker, 44, played college football at Wisconsin and has a lengthy coaching career, including NFL stints as defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2009 to 2012) and Chicago Bears (2013-2014).


Kelly, any thoughts on this beyond the fact that UGA will adopt Smart's approach used while at Ala.
