Must the ACC have a TV network just like the B10, SEC & P12 have?

Must? No.

Will? Probably in the next few years.

The real question is must the Big 12 have so much internal bickering?

I hope the ACC's isn't "just like the SEC, Big 10 or Pac 12." I hope the ACC's includes shows that involve gambling, and hookers, and fire trucks, and guns, and drugs, and hookers, and guns, and gambling, and hookers, and fire trucks, and guns.

You know, it will fit with North Carolina, Louisville, and Miami in our league and all.

I am getting the coverage I need now, occasionally there is a game I can't see, but for the most part I am watching what I want. Would I watch a baseball game or volleyball game that isn't currently offered, maybe. But I would rather see the ACC go to more digital content and more offerings there. I think that is better for the consumer as well.

I have watched the SEC Network about 3 times...all when GT was playing on it. I've watched the Big 10 Network about 3 times...all when GT (WBB... and a Beesball game a couple of years ago at Ohio State) was playing on it. Have never watched a single second of Pac 12 Network.

If and when the ACC Network channel gets going, I will be very unlikely to watch Boston College play Wake Forest in women's lacrosse. Then again, I won't watch any lacrosse. I know I know. That is hard to believe. :D

I'm with you, BaJ. I just wish our contract with ESPN guaranteed that the non-FB/non-MBB events would be covered via ESPN-3 like the SEC Network Plus pretty much does.

edit note: I lied about watching the SEC Network only 3 times. I did watch Tennessee upset Vandy in the SEC MBB Tournament a couple of weeks ago. Shame on me.

I don't even know if my tv package includes the Pac12 network...

I know the ACC is encouraging the campuses to upgrade their on-campus broadcasting capabilities. If the campuses can no much of the program development in house and keep the expenses down, I see the ACC going that direction. But at that point the ACC could offer the digital content themselves and keep more control.

Occasional porn mixed in during the timeouts would be nice would help the ratings.

I agree. I mean, isn't that why we brought Louisville into the conference for anyway?

Swafford thought by studs, they were meaning horses a plenty in the Bluegrass coming at 'ya.
Darn escorts, trying to compete with my Decatur St. Darlings.

I'm OK with using my credit card so stinger78 can watch Wake and Duke play something as long it is less than 30 thousand dollars. I have my limits. Watching Clemson play FSU in something like women's tennis? I can up that to maybe 40 thousand dollars. If the sport can be wagered on and my associates and I can be guaranteed of which team will win and by how much, we can up that limit tremendously...if you get my drift (wink wink).

You know who will win Wake and Dook, You know who will win NCSU and Dook. Same for Wake or NCSU and UNCheat. The only debatable one is Dook and UNCheat. Never bet on that game. So... considering that there are 4 out of 10 possible combinations that you know, you should be able to generate the... um... revenue... enough to make this work. As long as you don't go nuts on the other games, you should be set.

Depends on the sport or event though. If it is men's hoops, I'm taking Duke over Wake. If it is pig farming, I'm going with the Pack all the way. If it is a test of some kind, I'm going with the Cheaters. Of course, you knew that already. They cheat.

The Longhorn Network on Christmas Day has Cow Pie Yule Turd Log where they show Bevo eating grass and laying cable for hours at a time with Christmas carols playing. If we get an ACC Network, I think non-stop pig farms at NC State with Christmas music would be fun. Oink oink.

Of course, you are right. How silly of me! There are as many pigs in the Tobacco State as there are cheaters. What was I thinking?

I look forward to the ACC Tractor pull , State vs Clemson . I'm betting on Clemson .

Way too complex! You're introducing too many factors here. You see, when you talk tractors in the context of Clemson, NCSU, and VPI, you're just unable to develop any reliable predictive analytics.

Watch out for the Hokies...though cow tipping is their most dominant sport. (that national championship trophy case in Blacksburg remains empty though)

I know they are in the SEC but VT can't beat Auburn in cow tipping.

Well, of course not. Auburn pays the best cow tippers throughout the deep south into their program.

Nebraska are the champs. Trust me, I have it on good authority.

Edit: But also, cow-tippy is a great spectator sport! I'd pay for that!

You don't have to pay we can use GTJT's credit card :) he has me on a 40k limit . How about a new 70 inch TV to watch cow tipping? I'll still have some for my beer money.
