A pretty good rundown by writer, Pat Forde, of coaches who are hot, some that are not, some openings (including a G.T. mention) about to take place potentially, and some other stuff around MBB... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/forde-minutes--coaching-edition-041013309-ncaab.html

Note, Pitino is rumored by Forde to potentially be on the way out in light of the escort service scandal at UofL. Also, he notes the potential of Roy Williams retiring from Cheaterville.

King Rice is from my hometown, went to UNCheat. Larranaga has been at Da U for 5 years, all resulting in 20 wins or more each season(likely to retire there).

Have been a Jay Wright fan before Marist, so he gets further out of reach at each stop. Talked to him, his wife during an all-star game a few years ago. Mack is a Bobster guy. Bryce Drew intrigues me, greatly.

With 3 weeks left to the regular season, here's my prediction of how the seeding will end up at the A.C.C.T....

12 Ga Tech 4-14
13 Wake Forest 3-15

11 NC State 5-13
14 Boston College 0-16
*****************************
8 Duke 10-8 vs 9 FSU 9-9

5 Clemson 12-6 vs 12/13 winner

7 Pitt 10-8 vs 10 Va Tech 8-10

6 Syracuse 10-8 vs 11/14 winner
*****************************
1 Cheaters 15-3 vs 8/9 winner

4 France 12-6 vs 5/12/13 winner

2 Notre Dame 13-5 vs 7/10 winner

3 Miami 13-5 vs 6/11/14 winner

(note, if it falls this way, a Cheaters vs Duke quarterfinal would be fun)

Remember, only once in over 60 years has the A.C.C.T. championship featured 2 teams NOT from the state of NC. G.T. over France, 1990.

Wonderful trivia question, last paragraph!

I nailed it at 4-14, 12th seed, when I called for a change in December(and it certainly looks that way, if we take two more as you've forecasted).

My middle name for CBG is "if". Son calls him "close" or "almost".

Revised standings heading into the weekend (and revised projection of the A.C.C.T. seeds resulting from 2 road upsets last night by the Hitler Youth and BasketJackets)...

Current Standings as of Thursday, Feb. 18
T1. Miami 10-3
T1. Cheaters 10-3
***note, these 2 teams face off in Chapel Hell Saturday at 1pm on CBS...GO CANES!
3. French 10-4
T4. Notre Dame 9-4 (ND defeated Duke at CIS)
T4. Duke 9-4
(Louisville is 9-4, but won't participate in the A.C.C.T.)
6. Clemson 9-5
7. Syracuse 8-6
8. Pitt 7-6
9. Noles 6-8 (NCAAT chances took a huge hit losing at home to G.T. last night)
10. Hokies 5-8 (since defeating G.T. in Atlanta, have lost 6 of their last 7...now only 1 game ahead of G.T. though they have the tie-breaker head-to-head...remember, the 10-seed now gets Day 1 at the A.C.C.T. off which is huge for any miniscule chances of winning it)
11. Jackets 4-9
12. Pack 3-10
13. Deacs 1-13
14. BC 0-13

Updated A.C.C.T. projections...

12 NC State
13 Wake Forest

11 Ga Tech
14 BC
**********************
8 Pitt vs 9 Va Tech

5 Clemson vs 12-13 winner

7 Syracuse vs 10 FSU

6 Duke vs 11-14 winner
***********************
1 Cheaters vs 8-9 winner

4 France vs 5-12-13 winner

2 Notre Dame vs 7-10 winner

3 Miami vs 6-11-14 winner

That's unfortunate. It makes me feel more like a woman. And, being a butch lesbian, that is not good.

FSU playing its way out of the NCAAT picture. Clemson's loss at NC State hurts their chances significantly. They have little room for error and will likely pay for poor pre-A.C.C. performance.

NC State is now 4-10, G.T. is 4-9 with later tonight pending, and FSU has now dropped to 6-9.

BC is on its way of course to being the first team in A.C.C. history to finish 0-18 in conference play. How bad is it?

Wake Forest leads the Eagles tonight 30-4 with 6 minutes left in the 1st half.

edit note: BC hit a 33 footer with 1 second left in the 1st half to move the halftime score to Wake 41, BC 14...my goodness!

Boston College? I have no words...

Did Wake Forest hire a former player for their coach before he was ready to be an ACC head coach? Despite this game they have looked bad this year as well. He certainly has not turned their program around as hoped.

So did we find out BC is in the ACC?

Wake Forest hired former Kansas great, Danny Manning, from Tulsa. He is in his 2nd year there in a significant rebuilding job as the previous HC was the losing"est" HC in terms of W-L percentage in A.C.C. history IIRC. Turning Wake around from what he inherited will take several recruiting classes.

stech81, I'm still hearing blasphemous rumours that Bridgewater College is in the A.C.C. Boston College? Doubtful.

I keep hearing on the other board that a good coach can turn a program around in one year. That's what some people think G T can get in their next coach...

No HC can turn what Manning inherited around in one year...or two...or likely three. Major rebuilding job there.

All should be on the 5 year plan. A few schools can go on the 7 year plan.

Mike Bobinski on March 31 will complete the 3rd year of his 5-year contract making on average $700K per year. Georgia Tech's President, Bud Peterson, hired in 2009, apparently is not holding this Athletic Director to any accountability.

The athletic program is one of the smallest in the A.C.C. and has performed across the board miserably under Bobinski's watch and continues to be bottom division in most sports. I guess Tech will ride out this "5 Year Plan" for another 2 years unfortunately as this A.D. putzes around with little-to-no fund raising nor public relations skills being exhibited until we hopefully will be able to flush this pathetic era and find a new leader with some ideas and abilities to get us out of this pathetic hole we are in.

^^^ripping off Tech for 5 years...3 almost in the books...2 more unfortunately still to go^^^

Has he replied to any of your e-mails?

I have yet to send anything to b'ski. DRad responded very quickly and sometimes followed up with more detail later.

Drad could delegate issues on down. The Bobster does not want to be bothered.

At the game Saturday, CBG said "we" had the big donors/alumni in the house.
