GT was so close to winning that last game. This week is almost must win for GT to have any kind of season at all. Beating both NC State and Syracuse would put them at 3-5. But both are on the road....

I wonder how Clemson will fair tis week? Pitt and FSU

The ACC's leading scorer, Cat Barber of NC State, might not be available for the game Wednesday night hosting the Good Guys. If not, that would be a huge blow to the Pack.

Stay tuned... http://www.fayobserver.com/blogs/sp...cle_2f50e488-c386-11e5-b617-67edff73c0d0.html
I expect us, like always, to let a no name guy come off the bench and drop a career high on us. I swear to god it never fails! We just let Anis Mahmoud look like Hakeem Olajuwon this past Saturday. It really doesn't matter the sport. Football or Hoops. It ALWAYS happens.

Canes open the week with an 11-pt win over the Hitler Youth. I wonder if Ratface's back is starting to hurt.

The HY now get a full week off to freshen their legs, regroup, perhaps Ratface's back heals some (maybe not), and their next game is a week from Tuesday night on Cremins Court. Pretty sure they will get some time to figure out CPJ's offense during that off time as well. violin

Next week may be Duke's first week outside the top 25 in a long time.

Congratulations to Miami on a fine win. I knew when they hired Larranaga that he would be able to make big waves down there.

FSU wins at BC as expected and the Vegas line of -10 was right on the money. The French trailed the Deacs in Winston pretty much the entire game and were in fact down by TEN POINTS with 1:23 left in the game. They were down by SEVEN POINTS with 23 seconds left in the game.

Wake missed 3 of 4 free throws while the French hit 3 3-pointers in the final 20 seconds including the last one at the buzzer to come back in miraculous fashion that would make Napoleon proud and win by 1, 72-21.

Clemson gets it done...again! Taking care of Pitt at home tonight.

Hokies hanging tight with the Cards at halftime in Blacksburg. That one may go down to the last shot.

I'm hoping Clemson has played its best ball in January and will come back to what they looked more like in pre-ACC when we meet them twice in February (twice in a 10-day stretch in fact). Having said that, Brad Brownell definitely is the leading candidate for ACC COTY as we approach the midway point.

Maybe Clemson will not want to go back on campus next year and keep their games in Spartanburg. ;)

Speaking of, the Tigers have played 5 home games and 3 roadies. On the immediate horizon, their next 3 games are on the road...at FSU, at Wake and at Va Tech before coming back "home" for 3 straight...ND, GT, and BC...before finishing with 3 of their last 4 on the road.

The Orange are laying a bucket tonight at home against the Irish (7pm, ESPN-2). Hopefully the Irish take them into 4 overtimes to wear out the Orange's legs for their short turnaround to then host us 40 hours later Saturday at noon. (edit note: Irish will be without their best player, Demetrius Jackson, who is out indefinitely for injury)

Big games on the horizon for Louisville...they host the French Saturday (1pm, CBS) and then turn around Monday night in what is the best two teams in the conference against UNC (7pm, ESPN).

I agree, a very high tempo game with an overtime would help out.

On UVA or Louisville, I am not sure which loss helps Tech. I guess the UVA loss would keep GT closer in the loss column

Orange looking really good tonight in taking care of the Irish.

And FWIW, the Fighting Mark Prices stay hot and do it again. Tonight on the road at FIU (who entered the game 5-2 in CUSA). Charlotte wins again and now moves to 4-4 in conference. Great to see.

Updated standings heading into the weekend...

1. Cheaters 7-0
2. Cardinals 6-1
3. Orangenecks 6-2
4. Weather Phenomena 5-2
T5. Panthers 5-3
T5. Irish 5-3
T5. French 5-3
T8. Hitler Youth 4-4
T8. Turkey Buzards 4-4 (intentionally spelled incorrectly to avoid the annoying emoticon change)
10. Orange 4-5
11. F$U 3-5
12. North Avenue Trade School 2-5
T13. Baptists 1-7
T13. Pig Farmers 1-7
15. Eagles 0-7

Hypothetically, would you mates want Price or Neal as HC? Could we afford the other one as an Asst. Coach? In a perfect world, my choice is Craig only because he has more experience at the helm(both are sons of coaches). They played together here, alums working for their Alma Mater and the chance to compliment differences in personality for a diverse bond, hopefully.

I imagine neither are really burning to move with their sons playing for them where they are (well, Mark's soon to be playing for him starting next year). Unfortunately, I think we are likely tied down with the status quo until the Blewitt payoff is dissolved. Hopefully, the guys can get on a run over the remainder of the season and give us something to smile about.

Number of times in the CBG era we have won consecutive ACC games...

Season 1: none
Season 2: none
Season 3: once - 3 game winning streak to end the season with 2 wins in the regular season and then a first round win at the ACCT before being bounced in game 2
Season 4: none
Season 5: 1 chance so far and didn't get it done...now, a 2nd chance exists coming off the unexpected win at Raleigh Wednesday night...can the BasketJackets get it done?

Pretty sad isn't it?

I definitely do not want either of them to get too hot before Georgia Tech is ready for their next coach?

1 (9-7) in 2004. Have to go back 20 years to 1996 to find another one...'96 remains Tech's only outright regular season ACC "championship"

The point spread in the BC at Cheaters game?...

...try Cheaters laying 26.5 pts.
