For his assistants I would say he has done a decent job. I know he couldn't afford Charlton Young or a few other high dollar assistants despite what you may hear elsewhere. He interviewed and spoke with a ton of guys so I think he hired the combination he wanted. I'd give them a strong 6 or 7.
Why did Michael Summers quit the GT football team last season?
I can't comment on what happen, CPJ, Mike and his father all told me the same story about what happened but it is not for a message board. Both CPJ and his dad wanted him to finish the season, but had he not gotten seriously injured I think he would have stayed the rest of the season. If you come to an event or see me in person I'll tell you the story, but I'm not putting that up on the board at the request of both the Summers family and out of respect to the GT staff.
1) Any changes to approach to recruiting (camps, number and timing of offers, geography of focus, etc) this year compared to last year?
More offers are going out across the country so I think they are being more this year. Two main issues are, this is a class is almost all defense except for 3 skill spots and 5 OLs and the team is coming off a horrendous season so a lot of kids have told me they are going to wait to do anything until they see how GT comes out of the gate.
2) Of our 18 signees last year, Cook, Roof and Andy McC accounted for 12. Any changes in territories? Any changes in recruiter assignment of territory? Speed still saddled with south DeKalb?
Yes they moved CAM down to South Georgia and the gulf coast side of Florida. Ron West is in South Carolina and parts of Cobb now. Yes Speed is still stuck in DeKalb/Newton where he can't get guys offered who would come here and the ones GT wants go to factories.
3) Our success in landing a solid recruiting class in 2015 was said to be in part due to our then new recruiting support unit. Last year our support unit was in flux, which may or may not have been related to recruiting efforts flailing about until the last thirty days. How on balance and ready is the unit going into this cycle?
No idea, I think they have the unit set up the way they want for the most part. Certainly offers are flowing for 2017, 2018 and 2019.
4) Have you had any exposure to Pastner yet? Impressions?
Not much, he has pretty much only been on the road so far. I should know more this summer when I get a chance to be around him some.
5) On paper the staff being assembled, while excepting Labarrie, are without SE recruiting connections, seem to be the most qualified we've had in awhile. Strong on both recruiting, technical knowledge, and operating in a strong academic environment. How did this come to be? Pastner know who he wanted to start with, or did a from-scratch screening of candidates, or was guided by Mbob?
Pastner fielded interest from tons of names, how he got those, I have no idea. You don't need connections here because Josh and Darryl have them, GT is a national brand and needs to be recruited that way. Look at who historically have been the best players and other than MGH and a few others, they have been out of state kids, from Price (OK), Salley (NY) to Barry brothers (Calif) to Shumpert (Chicago).
6) Spotted Chamberlin's name on the Falcons camp list. Did Days ever get an invite anywhere?
Not to my knowledge.
Percentage we get Charlie Moore? I think we are, at worst, a coin flip with Pastner, Hardy and (I think) Charlie's family member here. And he said he is going to visit. I think we get him if his visit goes well, home/Illinois pressure and all.
Who knows, the kid ain't talking, people are putting a lot of stock in his relationship with Josh, but he has is the last hot chick at the dance and there are 8 suitors so who knows what will happen.
1. I made a bet with a buddy that ND would be in the ACC (for football) within 5 years. I made the bet about 5 months ago. Should I feel confident on that bet?
To me the biggest issue that will swing it is ND getting left out. I don't care what their people say up there now, if ND wins 11 games and is beat out for the playoffs by say FSU, Bama, Oregon and Ohio State will equal records, they will change their tune. Most of the playoff committee people don't give a f--- about ND and will vote for the team who played a conference championship game IMO. Getting shutout is leading to the Big 12 adding teams like Cincy or BYU in the next 6 months to a year.
2. How warm are you to the idea that GT Basketball gets a Top 15 recruiting class in 2017?
Based on Josh's history it is possible, but top 15 is a big jump up, depends on the number of ships he has to work with as well, more will help him since it is more subjective than football rankings.
3. Chris Griffin knee updates?
Still waiting on recovery from his last procedure should know more soon.
How often does Shamire meet with CPJ toreview his latest progress on weight loss & improved conditioning?
CPJ isn't the one who would meet with him in intervals over that, that would be Sisk and the nutritionist. It is up to Shamire to do what he needs to do, there is nothing anyone can do legally. The staff has set up a system for him that should work, but it is up to Shamire to do it.
Will we have any players Drafted intothe NBA this year, and if so, who (I'm guessing 2nd Round if anyone).
Nope, hell Robert Carter Jr. declared and signed with an agent and he isn't getting picked either.

Nathan Cottrell and Freddie Burden should both be cleared for summer workouts when the kids report back in a few weeks. CJ Leggett has been cleared for a while, no news on Chris Griffin and Jake Whitley is still on the team so I guess he sorted out his headache issues with the staff.
