- How many more do we need to win to become a bubble team?

Four more is a lock, three if two are to Pitt and Louisville would put GT right on the edge of the bubble. Need to finish top 8 in the ACC to get in IMO.

If you could punch David Pollack in the face twice, or David Pollack once and another player once (both options without any consequences), which option would you choose, and if so, who would that 2nd player be?

Johnny Football

Curious why Adams is a 3 star given all his opposing high school coaches comments and ones from you and other knowledgeable people would seem to indicate otherwise.

Because our no one went to watch him in person and we do not do that level of research on guys calling opposing coaches or whatnot. I found out about that late in the process otherwise I would have had those guys talk to our peeps, but heck another company is based in Nashville and then didn't have him highly rated either...

Why did D. Campbell signwith LSU? You all had him as a 95% lock for GT.

At one time I did, then his girlfriend got into LSU.... Then...... And it was the hometown school.

Way to early bowl prediction for Tech next season? will hold you to it.

Citrus or Sun Bowl

Any word if Calvin Johnson is finishing his degree at Tech or somewhere else? Bobby Dodd does need a new name on the banner.

As far as I know he will finish at GT, he lives here so that makes sense.

1) Enjoying your series on Position Battles. If we segregated positions thusly: QB, Aback, Bback, Oline, WR, DE, DT, LB and DB, would you please rank order the nine by most to least in strength? (Combining talent, experience and depth.)

WR
DL
LB
AB
BB
DB
QB
OL
Specialists

Wondering if my take of Aback at the top, DB at the bottom, and my slottings in between, are close to the way you see us pre-Spring.

No I didn't think DB is that bad, just one safety spot concerns me, Corey Griffin or someone will need to step up, AJ, Step, Lamont and Law Austin are pretty good.

2) How does our basketball recruiting class stack up in the ACC and nationally?

GT is in the middle of the ACC, this is probably Gregory's best class since his first full class with Carter, MGH and Bolden. GT is probably somewhere between 35-45 nationally.

Last I saw we were somewhere in the #40 to 50 range and the rich (Duke, UNC, Virginia) were getting richer. Are any of our three recruits expected to play major roles next year?

All three are going to play major minutes. Remember the only rotation guys back are Tadric Jackson, Quinton Stephens and Ben Lammers and the two mediocre PGs so with two redshirting bigs added that leaves a lot of minutes at PF, SF and SG.

3) Any news on visitors this weekend? Heard there is a four star DT from Augusta and several kids from Gwinnett.

I'll have some updates on Monday. Been travelling all weekend, was in NJ and NY to meet with my future in-laws and do wedding planning to be honest.

When will we get our next commitment (other than D-Rob)?

Spring football so about three weeks.

If GTBB wins two of the last three, and two in the ACC tournament to pull out the NCAA bid.

I think that would do it.

Do you season ticket sales go up or down next year if Gregory is retained.?

I don't see them going up unless GT made some kind of run in the NCAAT or got some sort of amazing transfer.

Realistic replacements for BG (should a change be made after this season) that are being bandied about down on North Ave.?

Depends on the money, I don't know what that would look like yet, depends on how is money looks. It is still kind of cloudy and until the job is really open it is hard to tell who is interested. Hell Jaime Dixon wanted the job last time, so there is no telling who is willing to gamble on themselves to turn it around or who isn't until it is there.

Would NIT or CBI be enough to save BG's job, or is he toast anything short of NCAAs?

Maybe, I think it is all in flux right now, he can save his butt or lose it all if the team chokes down the stretch. The next two games are VERY HARD, Louisville is playing their last game of the season at home against GT and they will be pissed and want to win bad and Pitt is on the same bubble GT is, only on the inside.... That isn't easy.

You mentioned M-Bob looked white as a ghost after the ND win because some kind of incentive kicked in for BG worth a few thousand $$$. Have you seen a school mismanage b-ball contracts worse than GT in recent memory?

I'm constantly shocked by how badly designed the GT contracts are and how poorly they are set up. For example if CPJ has a bad season again and if they wanted to make a change they will have to wait until the end of 2017 to do anything because MBob waited too long to sign him to an extension in 2014 and lost all his leverage. BG had no leverage and got too nice of a buyout... It is insane and part of the reason no one is riding in on a white horse saving GT with BG. The deep pocketed donors are business people and GT's contracts with coaches don't make them have any faith in the people negotiating them. Hell the radio deal was CRAZY and negotiated so poorly it was astonishing.

Who is going to be the next president?

If I were gambling on it, I'd bet on Hilary but that has nothing to do with politics just playing the odds. No further comments necessary or desired.

Prior to the disastrous 3-9 campaign in 2015, some were pointing toward 2016 as the year GT could make a legit CFP push. How much have the nightmare season last fall and illuminated issues on the OL put a damper on those expectations? What's a realistic win total for GT this fall?

I think 8-9 wins is possible right now, I think we will know more at the end of spring and beginning of the season. I've never seen injuries like last year, if you put one or two guys back on the field they go to a bowl game last year, hell just Byerly would be 1-2 games.

What's our odds on D-ROB now, and what school gets his services in your opinion?

No idea and anyone giving odds is crazy, D-Rob doesn't know where he is going.

Is fball recruiting getter dirtier, cleaner, about true same?

It is about the same as always.

How is the run blocking going to improve next year?

Should be more physical at OT with two sophomores who are physical, a bigger RG with Chris Griffin and a healthy Burden, but the bigger thing is the A-backs will know what the hell they are doing. They played with Lynch and a bunch of guys who were not supposed to play last year because of injuries and no depth at WR. Go watch any game last year and watch the missed blocks by the OL, ABs and WRs and see what could have happened on those plays. That is why CPJ's hair went two shades grayer.

Season goes as offense goes? PJs best seasons have been with best offenses. Worst season have been with worst offenses.

Yes, the defense could be better depending on DE production improving and getting a four or five man rush. The offense is the game changer.

how is recruitment of Deejay Dallas going?

UGA will probably end up with him again, GT is fighting, but he LOVES UGA and Kirby has made him a priority guy.

Im sure you've answeredthis question a 100 times so forgive me if I have missed it but how concerned are you about the QB position next season? Does Marthew Jordan have what it takes to be the starter when the 2017 opener against Tennesee comes around or does CPJ go with someone else. (Taquan Marshall, Christian Campbell or one of the 2 freshmen that signed)

I'm not sure on Matthew, he made huge leaps during his PT last year. We will see if he keeps growing this spring, he will have a ton of snaps. I think Marshall is out of the QB mix.

1) If Lucas Johnson puts on about 30lbs is he going to be the big physical qb we haven't had since nesbit or does he shy away from contact? I couldn't tell in his video

CBC told me he thinks so, so I trust his evaluation, he knows what is needed in the offense, but S&C will be huge for Lucas.

2) If MGH continues his stellar play and gets GT into the tourney with some upsets does that propel him into the NBA draft?

Maybe but he is a 2nd round guy at best, he is a guy who maximizes his talent but does not have a prototype NBA skill or NBA level athleticism. He just isn't super explosive or a great shooter, he a college-max out players that will have a good European career, but unless his shooting gets way better, I don't see it. He isn't Shumpert who was a freak athlete and world class defender.

Will philpot and Howell be studs for GT?

I think so, but they have to keep developing, I like them.

It's early but of the football offered guys who is showing the most interest? Any from the Rivals 250 target list that you posted showing serious interest?

Zach Quinney, Grant Gibson, Matthew Butler and Pressley Harvin Jr.

Will Justin Thomas have a shot at the NFL as a slot receiver? He has elite speed and presumablyhas good hands.

Hmmmmm, I mean there is one guy I saw in the NFL Combine at WR that is anywhere close to JT's height and he measured two inches taller than JT, so I give that as perspective. Justin is MAYBE 5'9" and there is no one in the NFL right now that size as an offensive skill player. There have been a few CBs and RBs that short, but I just think the cards are stacked against him from a physical perspective, but we shall see. JT is one heck of a competitor.
