Any chance we move Taquon to QB and play him in 17 18 and 19? I hope we redshirt him in 2016 so we can play him three straight years at QB.

That is probably his most likely position.

Any chance Snoddy gets a medical redshirt?

No

Any chance Erin joe gets a medical redshirt for missing all of 2013?

Unlikely, he needs shoulder surgery after the season.

Any chance Byerly gets a medical redshirt? I know I asked this before, any update on his application?

Yes, no

Pruitt update?

I don't care.

How involved is CRR with the OL on a daily basis? Full time?

He is around, but is not super involved in the overall plan, he is more of a support guy for CMS from what I've been told.

Taquon has been missed. What's the update on him? We need him against Miami and uga.

He is still banged up, but they hope he can turn the corner soon.

What is the issue with the OL and pass protection? Why cant they get that straightened out after 8 years?

I thought it was pretty good last year. But the Backs suck and the OL is inconsistent so that's why it looks worse than normal.

What's the deal with Freeman? I really thought he would take a step forward but seems like same player as last year.

He may be the biggest disappointment for me this season. He struggles to finish his pass rush and is not very good against the run at his size. He needs to step up or I think Anree Saint-Amour will start pushing him more and more next year.

The graduate DT transfer you mentioned previously? Is this a "hey, how about a DT transfer?" or are there a couple of legit D1 DT graduate transfers we are investigating? We NEED 2 of them.

There is one guy I know who can get in. They are working on some other options as well.

Since we have a huge glut of freshman AB's any hint who gets moved/transfers/redshirts next year?

Not really, Gantt will redshirt so they will really have three, three because Marshall will move, one and two, those numbers are fine.

2016: Freshmen: Gantt, Cottrell, Benson, Jarrett,
Sophomores: Lands-Davis, Lynch, Tq Marshall, Qua Searcy
Juniors: JJ Green
Seniors: Willis, L. Griffin

When will the injury report come out, Tuesday?

I would think so

Have we offered Cephus yet?

Nope

Based on past games against Virginia Tech, it seemed evident they were jumping our snap count and were able to blow up several plays before they had a chance to get started. Why don't we change up our snap count, other than than on those 4th down fakes?

They do change the snap count at times, they quick snap, slow snap etc.. I think it is a cadence issue with JT if I were a betting man. He isn't loud enough at times and the OTs have a really hard time hearing him when there is crowd noise.

It was mentioned that D'Allisandris (sp?) recruited Derrick Morgan. Set me to wondering about Oline coaches good both at developing technique and recruiting. How essential is it for CPJ to have an Oline coach with experience in TTO? Could he not hire a talented Oline coach good at run blocking, pass pro, motivating and recruiting?

Sewak has done a decent job recruiting recently and he seemed to coach them fine last year. Maybe he does need a second coach like a Todd Spencer, I'm not sure what the answer is to why the OL struggles.

Must you have experience coaching ST to coach it well? Or can a competent generalist (say, somebody like Sewak) become a ST coach?

Dunno

You have 't said why you think the Oline is looking so bad this year after being a team strength last year. Some say they are confused by the varied blitzing schemes. Changing the playing time shares as being done now suggests it's a personnel/talent issue. Your take?

I think for whatever reason the OL-men have stunk as seniors other than Bedford and Shaq Mason. Uzzi, Jackson, Beno, Finch etc... all had worse senior years. I don't know if it is the beating or anything. Not sure.

You said our recruiting improvement in 2014 and 2015 over mediocre/poor results in 2012&13 was due to coaching continuity, better formula for who to recruit and existence of our little recruiting unit. Yet seems like every year we are actively involved with FEWER, not more, four star prospects. Have we actively gone after any this year? Imagination? Or are we focusing just on high three star, good student prospects?

They go after them, but think about this, when they go after classes that are heavily OL based they are not going to have much star power. Most of the four-star level guys GT classically signs are DBs and a few DL types. None of the DL types have worked out at GT for some reason as an aside.

Is Buzz Preston a serious candidate for Hawaii?

I think June Jones will be the next HC there again, he shouldn't have left. I think Buzz may get an interview though.

Any chance at all someone like Mecole Hardman jumps at chance to play QB at Tech like JT? Any shot at D Robertson?

No and no.

Is Campbell or Taquan more likely to win QB battle and which is better passer? Any chance we go shotgun sometimes, especially passing downs.

No idea, I think they are both a work in progress throwing, Campbell has more size and dazzle, Marshall has a good head on his shoulders. They won't go in the gun unless the OL plays better, it is a full freaking disaster right now if you go in the gun, you just move backwards and JT doesn't have the arm for it.

With our issues handling teams run blitzing us this season do you think Bud Foster will try to bring it even harder this time?

I have no clue, but Bud is trying to pad his resume, so I expect his A-game.

Who would you say has been our most pleasant surprise player this season?

I've been really impressed with how quick Brant Mitchell has progressed. I didn't expect him to be ready to compete at such a high level this quickly. I knew he would be a good player though.

Marcus Marshall- Barring injuries does he have a better career at Tech than Dwyer?

Hard to say, but the talent is there. Dwyer was REALLY special especially in this offense with his speed.

I know you mentioned there would be some 5-7 teams get a bowl bid. Do you think we have enough gas left in the tank to get to 5 wins, are the players still motivated to get there?

Yes and yes, I've had this gut feeling GT will somehow get to a bowl.

I've noticed a lot of players slipping on grass fields even if they weren't wet and was wondering if there have been any discussions about changing cleats during the games.

Yeah that is something I want to ask about in the offseason. I've noticed the same thing as well.

- Is MBob understanding of a situation like this year's football season as an attrition of injuries, or is he going to demand some kind of staffing change? Also, is not getting the individual share of the bowl game revenue going to be felt in the budget...or is a bowl appearance not usually figured into the projections?

Bowl money is shared by the conference equally, so there is no impact on the budget. As far as staff changes go, I would suspect there will be some changes. How significant depends on a lot of factors but none of them are MBob, he doesn't have the juice to demand anything with CPJ.

- PJ , Vic Alexander, and Brant Mitchell...will we need to play 4-2-5 at all next season?

Yeah which one of them is going to cover Ray Ray McCloud at Clemson in the slot or Ryan Switzer at UNC, the answer is none. The 4-2-5 is based on the number of WRs on the field and speed not anything else. The best defense is the 4-3 now with Mitchell at MIKE, but Marcordes and Davis can't cover a 4.4 to 4.6 WR, period.

- Are we going to see an uptick in guys leaving before their eligibility is up? I've gotten a sense that at least 2 are on their way out (a WR and a Safety) because they've been jumped by true freshman.

Not really I think three or four which is what I said before the year is likely. Guys getting processed and graduating or ones who want a chance to move down and play.
