Last nights defensive line play

Question- last night our line just kind of stood up on running plays and did not over pursue- I feel we did a decent job containing their backs!.
This did not seem to happen any week prior-
Is this a new tactic for the DC- I feel like we waited to see what gap the tv was going to take before reacting
