Three Albany high schools lost seven football players to Lee County just before start of 2016 season
• Coach Williams at Albany reported he received information from his coaching staff that two players were leaving AHS to attend school at Lee County after being approached by a representative from the Lee County football team.
• Coach Truitt at Monroe said he was told by one of his players who left that he was approached by the son of the Lee County Booster Club president. Truitt reported the player informed him LCHS coaches said they (the athletes) will have better chances to receive college scholarships if they played football at Lee County. The player said the booster’s son also had been spending time with another player.
