During the first 10 years of my career post-grad-school-graduation from Ma Tech, I spent probably 20% of my time in the Detroit and Windsor ONT areas calling on big automaker customers' trim plants. During all those days in the winter, I think I may have seen the sun one day. In fact, I believe everybody came outside to bask in the glory of a winter day in Michigan seeing the sun. Some appeared to be in disbelief. Perhaps the end of time was near.
(the above is perhaps an embellishment, but not far from the truth)
You have my sympathies during the winter, but the summers are very nice - particularly over towards the lake like in Holland, MI. Many many days on business in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Holland, and Saginaw. Not sure if being sent to a MEG in Detroit in late December is a reward or a punishment.
