This is combined from a few well-placed sources...
GT initially put out feelers to Jeff Capel a couple months ago. He was going to be the guy. He had already started putting together a staff. The interest was mutual, but GT reps told him they wanted to talk to other people before making an offer. As time went on, they became more and more intrigued by Bryce Drew and eventually offered him the job. They were in talks with him (can't confirm whether he agreed to terms or not), but he wanted to hear Vanderbilt's pitch first before doing anything official. When Vanderbilt offered the job to him, it was done as long as the offer was competitive.
Capel caught wind of GT offering the job to Drew over the weekend and pulled his name out publicly from what I'm told.
With those two out of the mix, you're going to hear a lot about Pat Kelsey now. That obviously stems from his ties to Bobinski from their time at Xavier. Apparently Sean Miller and Chris Mack are pushing for him to get the job. Time will tell if that's enough to get him the job.
