Assane Diouf(signing would be in Nov., 2017). Updated: 2019 class.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being reported that 2018 top 5(in Colorado)has committed to Ga. Tech:

3. Assane Diouf, 6-11 center, Denver East
Diouf, from Senegal, already has major-college size, and he’s shown strong flashes already after joining East following the new year. He is still raw but is skilled and a load to handle, and he will quickly develop.

Thanks for showing Stech81 the future pole dancing little girl with all the trophies behind her. He will have her verbally committed to the 2031 class.

Not a commitment, however not worth another thread:

2018 top 50 prospect Jamie Lewis of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake High School breaks down his recruitment to Andrew Slater of 247Sports.

A 6-3 point guard, Lewis named offers from Baylor, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Virginia. Interest is coming in from Kansas, Texas and Vanderbilt.

Got a few years to go watch him play to determine that. Probably will honor Tech's end of the commitment, however could steer him elsewhere for playing time should he feel the development of Diouf's game is lacking.

He is Chuma's teammate at Westlake(won a state championship)and younger brother of Danny Lewis. Both of the other guys are in the 2017 class:

Thanks for your continuing work on updating us, mate.

It is refreshing to see offers extended with some hope that the young person and his infrastructure don't have to worry about the dark cloud hanging over Fowler Street as to whether the staff will be in place for a while.

Now, let's hope we land some of these well-endowed scholars.

2018 6-5 CG Nelson Phillips (Atlanta Xpress) has the tools to be a top 100 player. He can score off the bounce, score in the lane with his athleticism and a solid shooter to the line. He scored double figures in 3 out of 4 games and garnered interest from UAB, Temple, Georgia Tech and California. Look for that interest to turn into offers after another strong weekend in Indiana.

The secret is to get a Justin Forrest as he is on the verge of breaking through before his Sr. Yr.

Points are valuable and don't like sitting behind others. So you find your 1 and 2 in the "star system" and then have a Craig Neal type swing behind them. Justin could be that guy. Great lineage!

Word on the street is that CJP wants to honor the eight returnees and three recruits. Blame this one on the previous staff, if you need to. Not sure if he would have recruited any of the 11(he backed off White, while at Memphis).

Usually CBG didn't take high risks, however when you know your job depends on talent and you are working with less than three years on your contract(and the kids know such)....

He might qualify, who knows, could end up having a good four years and graduating.

One of the major performers of the weekend in Atlanta at the Adidas Gauntlet, 2018 Game Elite product has picked up seven offers within the past 48 hours. The top-10 ranking is well deserved:

Texas A&M

LSU

Virginia

NC State

Miami

Mississippi State

Georgia Tech

Zion Williamson(2018 Hot Prospect).

Here's my current list for 2018... Bolded names have offers. I'd be wary assuming any names from the prior staff carry over, including Diouf.

PGs/CGs
  • Jamie Lewis
  • Zach Scott
  • Damon Harge Jr.
  • Ayo Dosunmo
Wings/Stretch 4s
  • Sharone Wright Jr.
  • Zion Williamson
  • Khavon Moore

  • John Newman III
  • Nelson Phillips
