Great news. Thanks, mate.

I was watching the local 6 o'clock news tonight on one of the Gay Paris stations and they ran a thing on their sports segment about how the French are ranked #5 in the nation in one preseason poll/publication. They went on to mention Atlanta local area product and Parisian senior, Malcolm Brogdon, is on a list of 20 players for national player of the year. Further, this reminded me that he was a mere 3-star prospect in high school that Paul Hewitt didn't think was good enough to play at Tech. By no means am I saying Mr. Okogie will be a Brogdon, but it is proof that a 3-star who is committed to improvement over his time at the collegiate level can become a star.

Welcome, Josh!

Man, Brogdon is a sore subject with me. He wanted to come to GT, had the grades, ACT score, good family. My son and I watched him at GACS. I emailed the asst. coaches, called them. Got Drad to have them contact me. Stopped Hewitt at the ACC Tourney to remind him of the young man. Spoke to James Forest about him. He might have played in a lower classification which kept his profile down, but I told anyone who would listen, this is Duane Ferrell reincarnated. A gift wrapped SA!

With Coach Whack Hyder, Coach Gilbreath, Big Al and Coaches Cremins & Clark, we all mattered. My son never could understand why I didn't think Hewitt walked on water after 2004. He might have had the contract to show for it, but he never had me. Probably the most insincere Coach we have ever had. At least CBG will talk and listen to your thoughts. Share, care with you. He is one of us, even if this is too large of a task. And the landscape of this conference gets larger with trillion dollar homes/programs.

To think UVA was a bigger mess than we were before CTB took the helm.

What we know of now and assuming no attrition out...

'16-'17

PG Jorgenson Jr., Heath Sr., Heyward Sr.
2G Jackson Jr., Okogie Fr.
SF Stephens Sr., Matthews Fr.
PF Ogbonda So., White Fr., Gueye Jr.
C Lammers Jr.

We need a big man or two - perhaps one falls in our lap via the grad transfer route though I think we have a shot at signing a high schooler. We don't need any projects. We need a big guy who can come in and compete immediately.

AJC story on Okogie's commitment to the NATS...

http://recruiting.blog.ajc.com/2015...ns-why-he-picked-georgia-tech-over-tennessee/

“It was really close,” Okogie said. “It was actually almost a split-second decision.”

Ultimately, the pendulum swung in Georgia Tech’s favor, as the 3-star shooting guard from Shiloh High School verbally committed to the Yellow Jackets over Tennessee and Kansas State during Gwinnett County’s media days.

“Georgia Tech was the ideal choice when you think about the whole package,” Okogie said. “They had both the academics and the right basketball situation as far as coming in and making an impact as a freshman.”
