Gotsis Named to Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List

Defensive lineman was second-team All-ACC selection in 2014


THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior defensive lineman Adam Gotsis has been named to the 2015 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List.



Named after Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, the Lott IMPACT Trophy recognizes the nation’s top defensive player in terms of his impact both on and off the field.



Gotsis is one of 42 student-athletes on the post-spring list and one of seven from the ACC, joining Duke LB Kelby Brown, Duke S Jeremy Cash, Virginia Tech CB Kendall Fuller, Wake Forest DB Ryan Janvion, Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey, and Louisville DE Sheldon Rankins.



As a junior in 2014, Gotsis was a second-team All-ACC selection, accumulating 36 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and two blocked kicks. He has also been named to the Dean’s List and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.



The Abbotsford, Australia, native was part of a Georgia Tech defense that forced 29 turnovers and tied a school record with six defensive touchdowns scored.



Georgia Tech opens the 2015 season on Thursday, Sept. 3, when the Yellow Jackets host Alcorn State at Bobby Dodd Stadium.Season tickets are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets in person at the Georgia Tech Ticket Office (M-F 9 a.m.-5 p.m.), by phone at 888-TECH-TIX, or online at togetherweswarm.com. Season tickets for Tech’s seven-game home schedule start at just $245 – a value of $35 per game. Great lower-level seats are available from $350. There is no per-game ticket or Tech Fund price increase in 2015. The only difference is the addition of a seventh home game (Georgia).
