Players must qualify for this WGC event at the Blue Monster (Doral) in Miami. This is one of the longest courses on the tour.

The lone Golfing J to qualify and play this week is Matt Kuchar.

Since the field is about half its normal size, there will be no cuts this week.

The weather is supposed to be nice with a slight chance of rain Sunday. If the winds pick up, this Blue Monster will become extremely difficult. Getting anywhere in the red will be a good score this week.

This is the 2nd of 3 stops in Florida for the Tour. Next week, it moves to the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor before heading to Memphis.

Kooch will be in the last group off #1 on Thursday. Tee time Thursday of 1pm. Playing with Marc Leishman (Australia) and Paul Casey (England, Arizona State U.).

Friday will see the group tee off #10 at 12:05pm. Good luck to Matt. Hopefully, he will get hot over the next month back in the Southeast and heading towards Augusta just a little over a month away (April 7 is the first round).

Kooch with a 2-under par 70 today. Bogeyed the infamous last hole at Doral. 4 birdies, 1 double bogey and that bogey on the back nine. Not bad though. Sitting just outside the top 10.

Kooch is having an awful day today in Round 2. 5-over thru 16 holes to move his overall score to +3 for the tournament. There is no cut in this WGC so he'll be playing over the weekend. But, he is way way back from the top of the leaderboard.
