Two GJ's finished in the top 10 at last week's RBG Heritage - Molder tied for 6th and Kuchar tied for 9th.

This week the tour moves to San Antonio to the tough TPC course and the Texas Open. Chesson Hadley tied for 4th in this event a year ago with a final score of -3. He could use another strong performance as his FedEx Cup standing is pretty low currently.

5 Golfing J's will be competing (current FedEx Cup Standings in parenthesis):
  • Roberto Castro (97)
  • Chesson Hadley (165)
  • Matt Kuchar (47)
  • Bryce Molder (75)
  • Cameron Tringale (89)
Stewart Cink (121) will be sitting this week's event out.

Kooch is #4 in this week's power rankings... http://www.pgatour.com/power-rankings/2016/04/180/valero-texas-open-tpc-san-antonio.html

NBC will have live afternoon network weekend coverage.

Hadley will be the first Jacket off Thursday at 9:10amET. Followed by Molder 9:20am, Castro 9:30am*, and Tringale 9:50am. Kooch goes with the afternoon group at 2:10pm

Kooch heads out at 9:20am* Friday. In the afternoon, Hadley 3:00pm*, Molder 3:10pm*, Castro 3:20pm, and Tringale 3:40pm*.

* - teeing off #10

Molder looking good so far thru 8 holes at -3 and tied for 2nd. Due to rain delays, Kooch doesn't tee off now until 4:40pm local time (5:40pmET), so I expect he won't finish his round until tomorrow morning and all of the tee times tomorrow will be pushed back from originally announced.

1st round resumption of play has started back this morning in San Antonio. Kooch birdies his first hole this morning (Par 5, 14th) to get to -3 and tied for 10th. Early scores in the clubhouse are tearing the course up for Round 1. Here's hoping the GJ's do well today.

And, right on cue, Kooch goes bogey then double bogey to head back to Even par thru 16. Ugh.

Looks like 4 of the 5 GJ's will make the cut. Hadley only one missing out.

Molder and Tringale both at -3 and tied for 19th, though will start out Round 3 7 strokes behind the leader. Kooch and Castro barely made the cut at Even and are tied for 60th.

Hopefully I won't jinx Kooch again, but he's tearing it up today. -5 thru 15 holes today (6 birdies and 1 bogey) and -5 for the tourney.

He is now just outside the top 10 and only 4 strokes back. GO KOOOOOCH!

Molder is close to finishing his round today and is -4 for the tourney as well.

And, my jinx abilities stay in check.

(Kooch bogeys the next hole)

I have skills. I'll start rooting for the Dwags now.

;)

Molder birdies his final hole to get to -5. Bryce continues to have a solid season to date. Hopefully he can continue his strong play on Sunday.

And the jinx worked again. I post about Kooch being on fire and then he finishes bogey-bogey-bogey.
