The Tour takes its annual post-Masters swing down to the Low Country at HHI.

5 Jackets will participate this week (the normal crew of 6, less Tringale): (current FedEx Cup Standings in parenthesis)

  • Roberto Castro (85)
  • Stewart Cink (114)
  • Chesson Hadley (162)
  • Matt Kuchar (58)
  • Bryce Molder (102)
Matt Kuchar is #6 in this week's power rankings for the tournament not too far from his home (and where he won 2 years ago)... http://www.pgatour.com/power-rankings/2016/04/18/rbc-heritage.html

A year ago, Kooch finished 5th at -14 in this tournament. Molder finished tied for 15th at -9 and Cink was tied for 31st at -6. Jim Furyk won at -18. This is a course/tourney that normally yields very low scores.

Good luck to our Golfing J's this weekend.

Kooch looking good so far. Started on the back today. 3 birdies and 8 pars thru 11 holes so far.

Not so good for Cink. +3 thru 13 holes. 3 bogeys and 10 pars.

Our other 3 GJ's tee off in the afternoon session.

Kooch cards a 4-under 68, which is 2nd best among the morning tee off crowd. His card was bogey-free. Hopefully, he can duplicate that score tomorrow and head into the weekend among the last groups teeing off Saturday.

What a bizarre scorecard for Molder to start out this early Friday morning...

Par-Birdie-Birdie-Birdie to go -3 for the round after 4 holes. Tee shot on the par 3 #14 (started on back nine today) in the drink. Winds up with a triple-bogey 6 to knock him back to Even for the day. Then, steps right back up and birdies #15. 4 birdies, 1 par and 1 triple.

Looks like Hadley and Castro will miss the cut. Molder is at -2 for the tournament with a second consecutive 1-under 70 today. Cink has some work to do. Currently +2 for the tournament and just getting started with his 2nd round. Needs to throw a red number up there today to keep playing over the weekend.

Kooch also just getting started with his 2nd round. If he could duplicate his 67 (-4) yesterday, he very well may lead this tournament heading into Saturday.

Kooch and Molder both make the cut and are in pretty good shape heading into Saturday.

Saturday pairings:

Molder will play alongside Zac Blair (USA) and tee off at 12:25pm. Kooch is paired with George McNeill (USA) and will be heading out an hour later at 1:25pm. CBS live coverage begins at 3pm.

Weather should be a little on the cool side versus normal, but otherwise clear and gorgeous. Wish I was there.
