Yellow Jackets tip off 2021-22 season on Nov. 9 against Miami of Ohio

THE FLATS – With a season-opening series of three home games against Miami of Ohio, Stetson and Lamar, Georgia Tech has completed its non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season, a slate that features seven home games, including a Big Ten/ACC Challenge contest against Wisconsin.

The Yellow Jackets open the campaign Nov. 9 against Miami, which kicks off Tech’s home multi-team event at McCamish Pavilion. Stetson visits Nov. 12, followed by Lamar on Nov. 15. Tech will tune up for that series of games with a home exhibition game on Oct. 30 against Morehouse.

Following a road trip to play Georgia in Athens (Nov. 19, previously announced), the Jackets return home to face Charleston Southern (Nov. 22) and Georgia Southern (Nov. 26) during Thanksgiving week, and Wisconsin on Dec. 1 (previously announced). Tech then faces LSU Dec. 11 at State Farm Arena in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event and Southern California Dec. 18 in the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Phoenix, Ariz. (both previously announced).

Georgia State comes to call at McCamish Pavilion on Dec. 21, followed by Alabama A&M on Dec. 23 to complete the non-conference slate.

Game times and television broadcast details will be released at a later date, but season tickets for the 2021-22 season are already on sale. Including Atlantic Coast Conference games, Tech will play 18 regular-season games at McCamish Pavilion.

The ACC will announce the conference schedules for its teams in late summer. The Yellow Jackets have home-and-away series with Boston College, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, and will also host Florida State, Louisville, NC State and Wake Forest. Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia Tech all played in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, with the Seminoles reaching the Sweet 16. (Tech will face Duke, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia on the road only). Two of those games will take place the weekend of Dec. 3-4-5 and either Dec. 28 or 29.

The defending ACC champion Yellow Jackets (17-9, 11-5 ACC last season) welcome back five of their top seven scorers for head coach Josh Pastner’s sixth season, including junior guard Michael Devoe (Orlando, Fla.), senior forward Jordan Usher (Canton, Ga.), senior guard Bubba Parham (Snellville, Ga.), senior forward Khalid Moore (Briarwood, N.Y.) and junior guard Kyle Sturdivant (Norcross, Ga.). Those returnees are bolstered by the transfer of guard Deivon Smith (Loganville, Ga.) from Mississippi State and a freshman class ranked No. 16 in the nation.

SEASON TICKETS ON SALE

Men’s season ticket prices start at $290, and returning season ticket holders that renew their seats by April 9 will save $25 per ticket. All price levels and associated TECH Fund donations remain unchanged from 2019-20. For a full pricing chart and list of benefits, click here.
