Fridge says he regrets not taking GT HC job in 2002

I think the folks who regret O'Leary and Fridge departing Tech are the area restaurants.

All joking aside, I am quite pleased actually that Ralph is still kicking. I was genuinely worried about him at one time regarding his health - significantly overweight + stressful work, etc. - was a ticking time bomb for a devastating heart attack.

Would be nice to see him at a game this year.

He was there for the Thursday night 1990 celebration game this past November, yes?

You are not a drunk. You are sober challenged. 3 more syllables and sounds more like you are a victim.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this point. Tech people appreciated the Fridge and what he could do here in Atlanta at a "unique place", while Twerp people could care less what anyone does short of championships-while giving them less to work with.

I think he was still in good shape in 2002. He became the Maryland coach in 2000.
first season was 10-2 with ACC title and an Orange Bowl. second year was 11-3 and ended with a 30-3 domination over Tennessee in the Peach Bowl.

He was 21-5 after his first 2 seasons and everything seemed to be rolling fine. But he never could recruit a QB that could run his offense as well as the first few seasons. Eventually things started going poorly at Maryland, but I think it was more their internal management than the football coach.
