Now that Richt is off the table, the two names that are getting the most talk right now are:

Jeff Brohm, former Louisville Cardinal QB and current HC at Western Kentucky - I think this could happen within the next 24-48 hours. He reportedly is very interested and in town to interview and would be an outstanding hire, IMO.

Sonny Dykes, current HC at California - he reportedly has interviewed with Mizzou (though that job was filled from within last night) and South Carolina already. Has a hefty departure clause at Berkeley.

Just my gut feeling is that the French and Brohm will be married soon.

Don't know much about either one of them. Really thought this would have been a better place for Richt them Miami . But what do I know I thought our offensive line would have been our strong point this year.

Richt is used to thugs (Miami, FSU, Cesspool) so he should fit in better in south Florida. Don't let the French fool you. They can and will get in the brook trout if they want 'em, but they have much tighter standards generally speaking and more roadblocks than they do at the places he's been and prefers. And, throwing all that aside, the Miami job is - or should be - easier. He just needs to recruit his own backyard and develop some players and he will win 10 games a year and win a few Coastal titles. It's a good start having Kaaya. Less of rebuilding job there. And, the standard has now been lowered so just winning a Coastal title - not a national or ACC title even - will be progress for them.

When they entered the ACC over a decade ago, the standard was set towards national titles. Not anymore.

The twitternet is blowing up with rumors that Bronco Mendenhall is the man. That would be a good get for gay Paris if true.

Yep. Just reported on the local news. Done deal.

Good hire...I think.

I've always been impressed at how well-coached BYU looked under Mendenhall. I think three of our Coastal brethren have scored big with their new hires. Not exactly thrilled about these hires...

Mendenhall's contract reportedly starts at $3.25M a year. That's quite an investment, and more than CPJ's renegotiated contract signed earlier this year.
