Dan Mullen, other coaches have suggested it at Coaches Meetings:

Take the redshirting away completely?

IMHO, red shirts, medical waivers, et al could be completely condensed in a sixth year of eligibility by application, for injuries taking one of the five years away(3 games or less in football, 7 or fewer in hoops). If you transfer, you lose one of the five years unless family hardship is a given cause.

Does this make too much sense for the NCAA to approve?

Yes.

Plus, how dare you suggest or even fathom that the NCAA has time for stuff like this. They need to spend their time placing Missoula A&M Women's Teachers College on probation for improprieties in their equestrian program.

;)

Interesting to see what would happen if D1 coaches would commit to multi year scholarships for these players as well.

I believe DIII players only get 4 years period. No medical hardships, no redshirt year etc.

I'd rather the NCAA focus on promoting education of the players with real useful degrees.

Are they at it again ?

Yes, they take their horseback riding seriously out in Missoula. Win at all costs and stuff like that.

If an extra year of eligibility is passed, should you and I go back and use up the one we never used? I mean, between Hank Aaron and I combined we've hit over 750 home runs and all.

It took me 7 years to finish not sure a 5th year would help me. :)

The "Babe", Top 10B, and myself-all combined for 714 home runs so we are very envious of the Hammer and the 622 Kid(getting that many together)!

I didn't know Southern Tech allowed reenrollment for 7 years? What did you do, bribe them with Bud or finish at Kenneysaw State?

I didn't know I would pass English 102 with a -30 on the first test. ( I pays to kiss up at times)
