Good luck to our guys as they hopefully make a positive impression.

Good article here from Ken S at the AJC highlighting Chris Milton has already made an impression with a smart move to go to New Orleans and participate in an NFL regional combine running a sub-4.4 40... http://georgiatech.blog.ajc.com/201...40-time-what-will-chris-milton-do-for-encore/

It worked. Milton said he received calls from two teams – he declined to identify them – who told him they would be at Tech’s pro day. Milton’s agent, the Atlanta-based Jack Reale (who also happens to represent coach Paul Johnson) said he’s left the decision to test again up to him.

“I figured there’ll be more guys at the pro day here, too, as well, who may have not heard whawt I ran,” he said.

On a related note, walterfootball.com's updated mock draft today (March 16) has both DJ White and Adam Gotsis going in his 5th round... http://walterfootball.com/draft2016_5.php

Having followed his projections over the years and weekly of late, this is a slight drop down for White who had been going in the 4th and a significant move up for Gotsis (great to see, hope it happens) who had not received much consideration at this site - or hardly any others for that matter.

Maybe Chris Milton can work his way into consideration for a draft selection as well. I know it is trendy to say late round draft picks are better off to not be drafted and signed as a UDFA. I don't subscribe to that thought process at all. Even being drafted in the last round means your name is called and wanted. Further, it means the GM and front office are on the hook (albeit to a lesser degree obviously than early round picks) for picking you and will go on record as having spent a pick on you. IOW, that GM picked you for a reason and all things equal will likely support your making the roster given the investment is realized during OTA's and preseason performance.

I think I saw where Snoddy ran a 4.31 and Milton a 4.35. Both pretty fast. Unfortunately, it looks like Smith pulled up lame on his first run.

I was glad to see one Canadian Football League team had representation at our Pro Day yesterday because quite frankly, that is another avenue and one more likely for a few of these guys if they garner interest. Euclid Cummings was cut in August by an NFL club and then hooked on in the CFL for his rookie year and had a solid season. The NFL has a long history of guys starting their careers in the CFL and then making their way to NFL contracts. For a guy like Synjyn Days, for instance, I imagine he is open to the CFL at this point as I hope some others are.

Like the assistant coach in the movie Bull Durham told Crash Davis... "beats the hell out of working at Sears. Man, that sucks."
