Looking forward to conference play and clearly disappointed with the play last week and conference game is a good way to get that last one past us. Starts in Durham, Duke has best D since I've been here and giving up not much, will be a big challenge given the way we played last week.
ON INJURIES
We've got a bunch, probably Qua Searcy out for a while, other guys we will see, Qua is out for a while.
ON BLOCKING AGAINST ND
Blocking was poor, had triple the missed assignemnts of any game I've been a part of, a terrible way to start and then we got rattled a bit. That happens, some guys got wide eyed including some older guys, they played well and we played horrible, could play worse offensively.
ON BUTKER
He has to make a 30 yd with wind at your back, hopefully he will bounce back, he is disappointed, but others did worse. We punted it terrible, had one 25 yards and one go out.
ON ND DEFENSE
They did what we practice, we got them to line up the way we wanted, we didn't play. They played a 3-4 defense, that was it.
ON YOUNG OL
Freddie Burden played well and Trey Braun played well, the young guys didn't do well. Mike Summers played well when he was out there.
ON LB BLOCKING
The second level was bad, but the first level was atrriocious. I wouldn't expect that, but it was our OL. You can have the best plan in the world, but if you can't execute it is bad. I watched it 10x, you can't have 70+ missed assignments. You go the wrong way on 3rd and 1, turn the wrong way in pass pro, pitch the wrong guys.
ON LANDS-DAVIS
Might see him, he has a chance, he could play this week.
ON JALEN JOHNSON AT WR
I doubt he will play this week, might play a freshman there.
ON EFFORT ISSUE
It wasn't that, was a hostile environment, they got a good football team, top 10 team on the road. We are so accustom to not being that way, we are used to scoring 35 plus, if we don't the roof fell in, that is a good standard and we have to play better or we won't win anymore games.
ON SKOV
Runs hard with blinders, we are not getting production out of him yet we need. He needs to open his eyes and look where he is going. Not just him, he gets some tough yards and is hard to tackle but there is more to it. He is a bull in a china shop.
ON WHAT HE LIKED IN ND GAME
In spots we played okay defensively and gave up some huge 3rd downs, but we showed we have the ability to play.
ON LAST YEAR'S DUKE GAME
They beat the fool out of us, it was a good comparison to this past week's game, more turnovers and they beat more than the score indicated and we weren't stopping them either.
ON MOVING ON
We will correct mistakes and then you flush it and move forward, I won't mention it again.
ON DUKE OFFENSE
More option and more zone read, but they've done the same things in the past. QB is the best runner they have had, had good speed on the outside.
ON JUSTIN'S FUMBLE
Two guys blocked the wrong guy on the playside, he was just trying to make something happen, but he didn't hold on to it, he needs to.
ON JUSTIN
He wasn't playing like he wanted to, he needs to do some fundamental things better, he started pressing some too. We have to help him more, he can't win the game by himself.
ON ABs and WRs
We had chances in the passing game, but have to run better routes and they were probably as a group were less noticeable than others, we got some bad third down routes. Had quite a few missed assignments.
ON AJ GRAY READY FOR MORE REPS
We are trying to bring him along as quick as we can. Too many missed tackles in the secondary.
