Oh well. Might as well start looking forward to COFH during this bye week.

Spray Tan Boy's hind parts very warm?

Hmmm... https://www.seccountry.com/georgia/...rk-richt-uga-its-time-for-a-mutual-separation

Brian Jones, CBS Sports
“This is horrible,” Jones said on-air following the game. “This is terrible. I don’t know why Mark Richt’s name is being considered for any job. At least at his alma mater at the University of Miami. This was a terrible showing today. Yes, you should give a lot of credit to Florida. But Georgia should be worried. This was putrid. This was disappointing. They are a terrible football team.”

I look for this being a high scoring game bet the over both offenses are playing great. :)

Go back to drinking, mate, and stay away from smoking mushrooms. Trust me on this.

This is the GT board, not the Big 12 board. :D

If the Bull-Frawgs put 20 on us, I'm digging under the West Stands' old West Stands. Bury me deep so I can't hear them celebrating a win.

Honestly, we need to take that 20-0 lead and stay in the 3-3-5 defense with AJ and Brant. No prevent 8 man zone junk. We cannot get behind. I'm looking for a 28-10 or 28-14 victory.

This might be our bowl because VPI and Miami(road, we have 0 wins this season)are not so easy.

This may be our bowl ? Let no give up, first lets look, VPI even when our offense is good we only score about 20 points I'm thinking we can score maybe 10 points this year if the defense can run an interception back for a TD. Next is Miami on the road. Lets look at our road record this year. We played ND , Duke,Clemson, and UVa on the road, Ok lets not look at our road record.
Your right its our bowl game "The Offensive Shootout Bowl this year sponsored No Doz and Tampax " that will be played on a 60 yard field in order to improve the opportunities of both offenses to score.

With the game tied 0-0 and Tech about to drive in for a go-ahead score with 1 minute left on the clock, Tech runs the ball up the middle and a scrum evolves to which the refs don't blow the whistle for a solid 52 seconds. A Cesspool player comes out from the scrum with the ball and runs it back for a TD to win at the buzzer, 6-0.

Thought we get ACC Referees this year?
Never mind, they are just as pathetic and corrupt. Richt will probably give each one of them a Ford Truck built tough...like a thug in an alley!

The Gators actually helped take the edge off the pain this weekend.

Hope the offense gets back on its winning ways during the off week.

VPI, Miami and uGA will be a tough finish.

Word has it uga offense is still in Jacksonville trying to score without UF defense on the field. They got close twice but still no TD's . I'll check back in a few hours.

got a text from a friend this weekend.

Q: why did the Georgia Bulldawgs cross the road?

A: because they can't cross the goal line.

Looking on the bright side...

...we have 2 of our last 3 at home. The same place where we are 3-2 and in the 2 losses, we were either ahead or tied in the 4Q. If the guys can deliver a W 2 days after Turkey Day, all will be good in my eyes. Hopefully the guys get their batteries recharged, legs/joints/brains refreshed with some off days, and so forth...and, come out and play to their potential in November (we won all 4 last year in November...let's go 3-0 this year).

"Changes are likely coming at Georgia (sic...should be Cesspool or Hell)"...

Meanwhile, they’ve played three quarterbacks so far and enter the season’s ninth game unsettled at the position. Richt said Tuesday that Faton Bauta, Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey are each competing to start Saturday against Kentucky.

“It would be nice to get more stability at that position, but it just hasn’t played out that way,” Richt said.

This is no surprise now is it? Wasn't this pretty much a foregone conclusion back in August when a backup at Gay Paris was named starter, though Mike London was quoted as saying... "Matt Johns won the starting QB job in the spring and it wasn't even really close"... and this was right after spring drills completed in France...well before Lambert mentioned anything about transferring out.

I make a motion that Auburn, Ga Southern and of course the Good Guys make their November as miserable as possible. Anybody second that? After all, we fans decide the games...not the players or coaches. Ha!

I second that, and I'll take Southern on the money line if one of my books offers it at a juicy ROI. That's the sort of bet that has paid off enough over the years that I've never had to recharge an account - despite being wrong most of the time.

Going to be a little harder without Gotsis.

Agree and disagree. While I love the Aussie and we will certainly miss him - and I know this may sound like blasphemy - but, it isn't like this defense has done much of anything worth poking their chests out about with him in the lineup. Could we be even worse without him? Sure. Will we miss him? Again, yes. But, will it look significantly worse than the crap we've been seeing? Doubtful.

PLAY...THE...YOUNG'UNS!

I disagree on Gotsis. He's going to be missed. He is a big part of stopping the running game inside. When we was thrown out for the targeting, it made a big difference. IMO, one of the reasons we lost that one. Gotsis and Gamble are the reason they blocked the kick against FSU. I expect similar results in other games without him.

Yep, I said he will be missed. But, I don't think this defense has done much of anything with him in the lineup either. Of course, there are 10 other guys out there and 1 guy can only do so much. I get it. I guess I am still rocked by watching the French rush for a season high and not thinking to myself that Gotsis would've made much difference. Same for the memory to Notre Dame gashing us and that was with the Aussie in there.

That other guy who supposedly was "unblockable" and "the best DL he went up against per Shaq Mason" hasn't lived up anywhere to the lofty expectations he was hyped to prior to the season either.

I'm so frustrated with this defense and our defense sucking throughout the CPJ era for the most part that I am admittedly contaminated perhaps and incapable at the moment of finding anything positive about them. I could write up inexperience and all during the first half of last year. But, to return this many starters and seniors and look as putrid as we've been pretty much all year is very disappointing to say the least. Again, it has been a persistent issue throughout CPJ's time at Tech. And what's more sad is I don't see it getting any better any time soon.

:(

The only year we were decent on defense (at least as measured in yards allowed per play) was CPJ's first season at Tech. Since then we've ranked between 70th and 110th (roughly) in yards allowed per play, so yes it's difficult to see it getting better anytime soon (or perhaps ever) under CPJ. Firing proven defensive coordinators doesn't seem to be the answer (Wommack runs the 13th ranked defense using the same metric at Ole Miss).

I have some friends that are FBS assistant coaches and to a man they told me to expect mediocre defense under CPJ. The reason they gave wasn't so much the lack of reps that is oft blamed, but the inability to assemble a scout team that is representative of what the defense will see on Saturdays. I didn't really want to believe that but I figured even if true, mediocre defense is all we need if the offense is so difficult to stop (largely from the same reason - hard to assemble a scout team to prep for our offense). But damn, we have mostly fielded horrific defenses under CPJ. If we can get to consistently mediocre on defense, I'll be one thrilled Tech fan!!

Amen to your last sentence in particular, Texwood. I made a similar comment to my son recently. And, isn't that just sad when you think about it? We are praying for raising our level to mediocre consistency.

I'm a big CTR fan and I admittedly am biased because I knew Ted well when at Ma Tech - lived down the hall from me in Perry Dorm for 2 years. I want so much for him to do well and I know this is killing him inside. He bleeds gold blood. I don't think firing him or making any staff changes right now are the answer. We've been there, done that. He's been recruiting pretty well. At the same time, my biggest beef with him is the read and react approach. I hate it. Zone coverage should lead to more INT's. Not seeing it. Lack of pressure up the middle, poor fundamentals in missed tackling, etc.

The poor defense was masked by the takeaways late last season. But, it showed how dominant we can be when our O is clicking and our D is playing better than "consistently mediocre". *SIGH*

How many teams are really good at defense anymore?

The rules are such that the defenses cannot be dominating like they once were.

It is amazing how bad some are.

Looking at the freshman class this year I think we are getting some good players. May take one more year , but I'll stay with CTR.

Dominant? Who the hell is asking for dominant? We're just asking for consistently mediocre. :D

Here's a look at some of the best defenses... http://www.cfbstats.com/2015/leader/national/team/defense/split01/category10/sort01.html ...perhaps they are a weeee bit better than consistently mediocre, which we aspire to be. ;)

40% of the top ten on that list are in the ACC. GT has played 2 of them.

Plus 60% of the defenses on the list are worse than GT. If out of every 10 defenses only 4 are better than GT, that sounds like it might fit your requirements.

I think what you are saying is you'd rather see them in the top 20%.

Normalizing the data properly, we are currently tied with Tennessee at 75th in the nation in yards per play allowed. That means we are right at the 60th percentile in terms of defensive performance in YPP. Sounds pretty mediocre to me. Now, if we can just be "consistently" mediocre, then we are right where Texwood and I yearn us to be. Last year, we were 111th nationally in YPP allowed so we need more than a sample size of 1 to start talking "consistently" mediocre. In fact, last year wasn't even mediocre. It was terrible.

I thought you and I agree last year the only important stat was PPG ( Points Per Game ) ?

Yes. I'm still trying to figure out whether we suck or are mediocre or hopefully consistently mediocre in that area too. I'll get back with ya. :D

We suck.

We consistently suck!

After that great recruiting class in 2006? before CPJ, where Chan didn't have to give "all of his studlings" to Tenuta, we have really been bad in the games that excite the fan base.

What day is it?

I was told by GTJT it was Saturday hence I'm at home drinking a few Bud Lights.:)

Also, in general teams score more points now than 10 years ago. But yes, the trend at GT is not heading in the proper direction.

It's Saturday night right now. I'm looking forward to staying home and watching the NFL tomorrow.
