Had a really good conversation recently with four-star Fla. WR James BlackStrain. He and his teammates were all set to start "official" practice on Monday, before summer workouts were pushed back until August 24th.
He and the rest of the commitments are constantly in touch with one another, and in the words of BlackStrain: "The group message gets lit!" (Translation: He and his future teammates are developing a close bond, both with each other and with the coaches)
More from BlackStrain-
On his growing relationship with Coach Kerry Dixon-
"We have a great relationship. We talk everyday! The relationship between us is deeper than football. Going forward I know that he is going to be a great mentor for me both on and off-the-field. He always is keeping up with me and my family, asking how things are going and just overall.
He keeps everything honest and real with me every day.
The status of his commitment-
"100%. My family and I love Georgia Tech. It feels amazing to have found my future home. It is a real weight lifted off my shoulders."
His new role as a recruiter-
"I have been after many big targets. I am trying to get them to join our family. I'm working on trying to get another Florida boy to the ATL."
How he's been preparing for his Senior season-
"Workouts are going very well, and everyone is getting after it. Feels great to be working with the team. I'm feeling 100%, better than ever before. Ready for a breakout season,"
