Maybe Jeff Capel will be in town to see the Blue Devils play...if K allows him to of course. ;)

The JJ's host R-D at 7pm Fri, 4pm Sat, and 1pm Sun. Looks like the weather could be stormy for the Friday night opener so we could see some shuffling of the schedule back into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday look to be nice in the ATL.

Last few series vs R-D:

2015: 2-1 at R-D
2014: 3-0 at RCS, 0-1 at ACCT
2013: 1-2 at R-D
2012: 2-1 at RCS
2011: 2-1 at R-D
2010: 3-0 at RCS

We have to go back to 2000 to find a series loss for the JJ's to R-D at RCS. Here's hoping we keep this streak going. Since that series loss in 2000, the Good Guys are 18-2 over R-D at the Rusty C.

R-D is 12-13 overall and sitting in 6th place in the Coastal Division at 2-7. They are 104th in the RPI but do sport 3 wins over top 50 RPI teams (2 over Cal and 1 over the French). They enter the series on a 2-game winning streak (at Wake this past Sunday and then a midweek home win over Liberty). That broke a 6-game losing skid.

Other ACC series this weekend include...

NC State at Virginia
Cheaters at Miami
FSU at BC
Wake at Notre Dame
Pitt at Clemson
Va Tech at Louisville (Sat thru Mon series with Monday game on ESPN-U)

Only live streaming for the home series this weekend is the All-Access thing (I'll be watching). Tech has a shot to register our 20th win in the series opener.

How much does All-Access cost mate?

I have an all-access pass to the Cemetary Park next to us. People are dying to get in.

I am doing the monthly subscription this spring for $9.95 per month so I can primarily watch the 20+ Beesball home games. Just going month-by-month for now. Have caught a little Softbees action so far along with a couple of T-Babes & T-Dudes matches.

Each team executes DP's to end each half of the 1st. 0-0 heading to the top of the 2nd. Kel Johnson hit into Tech's inning ending DP with Bailey on 3B ready to score. I believe that should be grounds to revoke whatever percentage of a full scholarship Kel is getting dontcha think?

Perhaps too harsh? ;)

Boom! Kel goes yard to break a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 4th and continue his hitting streak. Woohoo!

Game 1 will be resumed at 2pm Saturday in the 7th inning with the game tied 2-2. JJ's need to finish off this game. No hiccups this weekend, guys!!

Other ACC games from Friday:

Cuba 10-4 over Cheaters
Pig Farmers 8-7 over French (in Paris)
F$U 3-0 over BC
Orangenecks 14-6 over Pitt
Irish 6-5 over Deacs

Woohoo! JJ's get a WP to break the tie in the btm of the 8th. Now up 3-2. Let's go Jackets!! Finish this off. Heading to the 9th now.

JACKETS WIN!

20-5 on the season...6-4 in the ACC.

Game 2 to start around 3:10pm???

Really? Booooo! I thought the release from rr.com said 2nd game will start 30 minutes after conclusion of the first game. Gonna make the fans sit there for over an hour? That doesn't make sense.

The GTAA is so incompetent at times it is sad...

https://twitter.com/GTBaseball

Even the twitter link at rr.com for Beesball points to the incorrect twitter feed for GTBaseball. What a bunch of morons. The bar is set so freakin' low for that organization, I guess I should just come to expect it.

Making the fans sit there for 1 hour and 10 minutes is ludicrous. What a way to lose fans. Folks bringing little kids have to somehow drag on entertaining them and keeping them interested for that long with nothing going on?

Absolutely stupid.

Here's the official statement... http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/040116aab.html

Play will resume at 2 p.m. Saturday. The second game will be played approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of Friday’s resumption. Both games will be broadcast on WREK 91.1 FM.

Dumbasses!

FRUSTRATION

Gonzo not in the order for Game 2. I wonder how long he will be out after that nasty collision at first base last night.

Damn. We waited over an hour for that? That didn't take long. So much for capitalizing on the momentum of the first game. Let's hope the bats are ringing for the JJ's this afternoon. Looks like we're gonna need 'em.

Powerful wind out to RF now.

Thanks, Duke. Errors allow us to get right back in it. Woohoo!

Ryan getting banged around. Get the pen ready...PDQ.

edit: and there he goes...need a hold here by Dulaney

Random thought...

...I wonder if at a tailhook this fall after stech81 has been drinking since 5am for many hours if he played the dizzy bat race would it make him see more straight? You know, reverse the effects of drinking?

Or, should stech81 participate in the dizzy bat race without doing the dizzy bat part of it against those who are? I bet the English have a money line on that at their books. Those wacky English...they'll bet on anything!

Getting late. Time to work some offense, Jackets! Get the bats ringing here, please.

Wow! Wade Bailey made an unbelievable play in the 8th and just tossed in another gem in the 9th.

Let's go JJ's! Gotta get one here to extend this game.

Good start. Gold with a pinch-hit lead off rocket off the RF wall for a long single. Top of the order up with Bailey now. Let's go JJ's!!

Saturday results...

Miami 7-3 over Cheaters
Pitt 15-5 over Orangenecks
France 5-3 over Pig Farmers
UofL 8-4 over Hokies
Fla State-BC canceled due to weather (Noles losing a lot of ACC games to weather so far this season)

Coastal Standings...

1. Miami 9-2
T2. Ga Tech 6-5
T2. Cheaters 6-5
T2. France 6-5
5. Pitt 5-6
6. SUNJ 3-8
7. VPI&SU 1-9

Got beat, 10-4, good buddy.

First ACC Series loss at home since Cheaters last year. Last time we lost a home series to Puke was in 2000.

Let's go get some Bear(s)!

Not a good weekend series. very disappointing. As hard as all the road series are this year, the home series must be won...

Typical Fire Danny Hall moments...

The sky is not falling, for a .500 team, Duke was not that bad. Came out fired up, Sunday.

We still have 20 wins, ranked in the 25, non-losing conference record.

Tech dropped to 17th in the RPI with this past weekend's miserable results.

We are now 16-1 vs teams 101+ in the RPI and 4-6 against teams 1-100 in RPI.

Within our own division, the Canes are 12-3 vs 1-100 RPI and the Cheaters are 12-7 (vs 1-100 RPI). The French are 8-10 vs 1-100 RPI. 18 of the French's 29 games have been played against 1-100 RPI clubs.

Speaking of rankings, for the second time this season, Tech moved into some rankings and then failed miserably once there. Bummer.

What is up with Hughes? I thought he was supposed to start yesterday. 2 straight weeks he is out. That's a bad sign. I assume King is done. For the second straight year, our weekend starters are dropping like flies it seems. King being one that is involved both times. Ugh.

5 games this week with 4 on the road. Important bounce back opportunity for the JJ's this week. Need 4 wins this week, IMO.

should have a winning record against the top 100. Several of those losses were wins that got away.

Not sure which ones you're talking about. All 3 at FSU were rarely in doubt and wound up comfortable wins by the Noles by 5 runs or more. The loss at UNC was never in doubt as they shut us out 8-0. The loss yesterday to Duke was by 6 runs. The only one of the 6 was Saturday's game where we scored in the bottom of the 9th to get the game to extras before losing. So, perhaps one of the 6 losses were wins that got away.

Duke Saturday was one for sure...
7 run 5th inning yesterday... IMO was avoidable

I can't remember which FSU game, I think Saturday one, there were several chances for the Jackets with runners left on the bases.

The league has consistently had half a dozen teams ranked this year. We lose 4 of 6 on the road to arguably the best two, then lose 2 of 3 to Duke in a 24 hour period where those two starters out could have made for a different outcome. No Gonzo, either!

I'm not seeing the panic. This is a different season. The young players have talent, a little patience needed.

Completely agree it is too early to panic. We absolutely must take 2 of 3 at Pitt this week and hopefully sweep the midweek games.

We still have road series at Clemson & the French while hosting the Canes and NC State. Come to think of it, Coastal Carolina (20-9 overall, #16 in the RPI) coming in for a weekend series is going to be very tough as well. And, I haven't even mentioned the Cesspoolians three times...wait...well, now I have.

We are at the halfway mark of the season after the game tomorrow in Macon. 21-7 if we get the win is a good first half. Duplicating that to get to 40+ wins before going to the ACCT in Durham will be very difficult to achieve given those series mentioned above on the horizon. Pitt swept us at their place 2 years ago. Can't afford that again obviously. Really need to get 4 of 5 this week.
