The Good Guys return to the Incredibly Large Jug to face the 2-3 Terriers. Wofford is used to success. They've been to 2 straight NCAA tournaments and 4 in the last 6 years. Head Coach Mike Young is in his 14th year in Spartanburg.

This season, they are off to a slower start (they won 28 games a season ago) with wins over Maryland-Eastern Shore and this past Saturday by 10 at Presbyterian. They have 2 losses at Missouri and at UNC, which are against solid competition. They also lost a week ago at Columbia by 11.

By season end, this is likely a solid team that is competing for another NCAAT berth out of the SoCon. Using Sagarin's as a guide, the Jackets should open somewhere around 12 to 13 pt favorites.

On the horizon is a 3-game stretch including games at Tulane (4-3), home vs VCU (4-2), and at the Cesspool (2-2). Sagarin's at the moment suggests we will be 6 pt favorites in NoLa, will be a Pick 'Em vs VCU, and a 3 pt underdwag at the Stegasaurus.

We can't afford to slip up against the Terriers. Go Jackets!

Young is a fine coach(actually, he and Gregg Marshall{tough to get along with, it has been said}were my hopes after Blewitt was canned), and his material will need some time this year-possibly next year to shine.

We were in Greensboro watching GT get waxed in the opener that weekend. Lucky enough to be with Raycom and media darlings in a suite and restaurant. They had us being wise enough to get Chris Mooney or Shaka Smart. When I asked about Marshall, Young, only laughs abound. Look at these two now. You think we would take a chance on Mike, knowing what CBG has done to this point?

worried about this one. I hope the team rebounds well after that tough game against Villanova.

They certainly looked like a top 10 team.

I'm looking over the horizon as you mentioned going to the Cesspool, it's on Dec. 19 a Saturday at noon($EC TV). A little bit of revenge serving Fox Stew to the Jacket Nation!

3 points at the 13:00 mark against Wofford? Our high flying offense has hit a snag it seems.

Another stinker in process. Hopefully the guys turn this around. A loss tonight likely flushes this season on the 1st day of December...and that is NOT an exaggeration.

Good to see Stephens putting them up. He's got a stroke that should work as a catch and shoot guy - it's all about confidence with him.

Texwood, hey mate I assume you are watching online via ESPN-3/WatchESPN. Just curious, are you having any issues with the audio? Commercials the sound comes through perfect, but during the game broadcast I'm experiencing the audio coming and going with mostly going (silent).

I've been watching with the audio muted - but just unmuted and it's working fine for me on espn3.

OK thanks, mate. Likely an issue with my WiFi connection. Picture quality sucks but I can at least see it and keep up with the action. Will check into it. Team looks good now and taking control of the game. Good to see after the slow start.

Very good to see us assume control of this one. There were some bad thoughts creeping into my head during the 1st half of this one. Back to back face plants in the same year would be hard to take.

Good win. Next game is Saturday at Tulane, 5pmET on CBS Sports Network.

The Greenies host cross-town rival, UNO, tomorrow night.

Side note regarding the BasketJackets not worthy of a thread of its own IMO...

...13 of the 15 ACC teams are accounted for in early-season tournament events for next year... http://www.bloggingthebracket.com/2...ite?_ga=1.170571936.1815405254.1421192565#Not

Only Syracuse and the Jackets are not accounted for as of yet.

One option is possibly the relatively new "Men Who Speak Up Main Event" in Las Vegas (Nov. 21 & 23, 2016). Clemson played in it this year so they are attracting an ACC team along with this year teams from the Big East, A10 and Big 10.

Perhaps this is yet another by-product of having an irrelevant program on the national scene. IOW, I doubt any of these tournaments are yearning for us these days. Some of these - make that, many of these - are managed by ESPN and they work with the conferences to schedule the various teams to assure the top conferences are present at their events as well as avoiding teams going to the same places year after year. We'll see...

great win.

Excellent second half after a horrid start shooting the ball. They could have fallen into the same pattern as last season but did not.

Mitchell has 7 double-doubles this season. That is awesome. His production might fall off later, but he'll probably get more minutes later as well, so we will see how he keeps it up.

Sorry crowd probably 1200 folks at the game.

I wasn't there, but they claimed 4K-ha!ha!

MBob's radio bit said it was our best half of hoops so far. He spoke of all the partial ticket plans, combinations.
For those football junkies(that would be you especially, Stech81), the Bobber said CPJ is taking this week to put the plan in place...then next week they will both meet to see what can be done together. Injured players, redshirted players and players that needed a year to learn the system. He said we will get the offense to be high powered again soon. The defense took a step up, however still not ready to carry the team when needed most.

Pardon the paraphrasing parts, inference is true enough, as I was driving during his interview.

Please don't shoot the messenger, I have plenty of holes in this head without any more added.
