The Bucs from the Land of Bobby Dodd arrive Sunday for a matinee against the Good Guys in our last of four home games before heading to Brooklyn for Turkey Day and Black Friday games next week.

ETSU is coming off a shellacking of the same Packers team we defeated last night. Aaron Rodgers sucked, btw. But, I digress.

ETSU plays at Villanova tonight at 7pm (Fox Sports 2 will carry the game live).

Tech is 4-1 all-time against ETSU. The most memorable being the opening round game in the 1990 NCAAT at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville where Lethal Weapon 3 began its journey to Tech's first Final 4 appearance with a 99-83 win. The last meeting was 2 seasons ago at the Massive Melon when Tech won by 30. Hopefully, we'll see more of what we've seen so far in this early season by the BasketJackets.

These are officially called N.I.T. games, even though Green Bay, ETSU and two other teams cannot advance to next week.

So put that in your M.E.G. card catalog, good mate!

Today's things to focus on...

1. Can Lammers (and Heath) follow career best performances with another strong contribution?

2. Is Jacobs just this good offensively or is it a mirage?

3. The Packers backed off Heath and dared him to shoot from the outside and he made them pay. Will ETSU try something similar? My guess is doubtful.

4. Tech should score a lot of pts today. Can they slow the Bucs down enough to win comfortably?

Tech is a 15.5 pt favorite.

I've become conditioned as a fan of this team to expect losses in tight games. I knew MGH would miss one of those free throws - and I really knew that rafter high rainbow three was going to fall when that kid released it. Oh well, any chance this will count as a good loss when the selection committee evaluates our resume?

Good to see GT basketball of old came back today.... We deserved to lose that game. A senior can't make a free throw and Jorgensen continuously running around a screen instead of going through or stating above. The last 3 etsu buckets were by the man he was guarding. Play Heyward on D and substitute offense and defense.

Only a little over half full attendance-wise, as probably expected.
Jacobs had 13, but with 3 fouls a little out of rhythm.
GT only forced 7 turnovers all game. Early we had problems getting it inside, never really established that part of our game with a height advantage.
ETSU looked to have more energy than we did. They lost to that Green Bay team we beat by 30, 103-90. They should be going to the N.I. T. Final Four next Thursday, not G.T.

I was puzzled as to why we weren't more assertive about establishing the inside game given our size advantage down low.

free throws are important, GT has lost so many games over the years by 1-2 points where they shot FTs terribly. I was disappointed they lost this one. Hopefully they players will respond well and learn from it

Funny thing was we shot them so well the entire game, like 19-22 or something?

We have such a wonderful scoreboard in a beautiful building, and our fans come out in small numbers. Not that I can blame the ones who don't.
