The Jackets and Tigers will tip it off for the 128th time. This time at Clemson's home away from home for this season at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in nearby Greenville as AD Dan Radakovich does what he does best and that's refurbish and build new facilities. The Small Toilet Coliseum is getting a major renovation this year. Check out some art...

Clemson is still fighting for a NCAAT berth. They currently are 14-10 overall and 7-5 in the A.C.C. They lost some games back in November (UMass by 17) and December (Alabama at home by 1) that may come back to haunt them. Losses at non-NCAAT teams - at Minnesota and at the Cesspool (by 23!!) are not going to help either. Having said that, if they finish 11-7 and win a game or two at the A.C.C.T., they should be in the conversation for the NCAAT. Brownell has done a fabulous job with this team. They have a bunch of quality wins on their resume' including FSU, Louisville, Duke, Pitt and Miami at home along with a win in OT at Syracuse. They have to feel good about getting to at least 11-7 because their remaining schedule is loaded with win opportunities starting with the Jackets at "home":

G.T., BC, at NC State, at G.T., UVA, at BC. Winning 4 games in that stretch is very likely. Winning 5 games in that stretch is certainly "doable". A sweep of all 6 might be asking a lot, but 4 games against G.T. and BC are all very winnable for the Tigers and they have been very tough at home so beating the French is not out of the question (ask those teams listed above).

The RPI SOS will not get any favors over the remainder of the regular season schedule as they play the weaker teams in the A.C.C., but their winning should drive them right up into bubble discussion as their current RPI of 90 should get them up into the 50's or 60's by time the A.C.C.T. rolls around assuming they keep winning. Of course, the RPI is not a driver for NCAAT bids. Their resume' will look very strong with their quality wins and if they finish 11-7 or certainly if 12-6 in the A.C.C. regular season, they are in. I think they will be barring any major setbacks down this key stretch. Brownell may win A.C.C. COTY if they finish 12-6. He'd get my vote if I had one.

Clemson is led by 6'7" R-Jr out of Chattahoochee HS in Alpharetta, Jaron Blossomgame (17.3 ppg & 7.0 boards per game). They have 4 more guys averaging scoring between 8.6 and 10.5 ppg. So, they are very balanced across their main 5 guys.

The Tigers lead the series, 67-60, all-time over Tech thanks mostly to dominating the series over the last decade. Clemson has won 11 of the last 12 in the series and won 10 straight before Tech broke the streak a year ago on Cremins Court. Going back to 2006 over the last decade, Clemson has owned Tech to the tune of a 17-5 record. Ouch!

Clemson all-time is 42-16 over Tech at home. This game while nearby will be considered a home game of course. They sure are doing better as homeless gypsies than Tech did in CBG's first year when our guys played at Philips Arena.

When the spreads are released Friday afternoon, we can expect the Tigers to open as around 4 pt favorites. Tech plays everybody close and this will likely be no exception. Tech has kept the games at Clemson pretty close over the last 4 years. This changed a trend where Clemson went several years of absolutely destroying Tech at the Small Toilet. Let's take a look at the last decade of games between the two at Clemson:

2015: Clemson by 7 (in OT)
2014: Clemson by 4 (this game was a ridiculous 45-41 final score...Woody Dantzler and Joe Hamilton are saying we scored more than that!)
2013: Clemson by 3
2012: Clemson by 2
2011: Clemson by 25
2010: Clemson by 11
2009: Clemson by 14
2008: Clemson by 15
2007: Clemson by 1
2006: Clemson by 13

The last win by Tech at Clemson was Feb. 8, 2005, 70-62. So, we are now trying to end a 10-game losing streak on the road in this series. Tech of course still has only won back-to-back regular season A.C.C. games under CBG once in what is now almost 5 seasons (the last 2 games of the 2014 season). If there was ever a statement of ineptitude, I think that says it all. When you go almost 5 full seasons and what is now 95 regular season A.C.C. games under CBG and you have won 2 games back-to-back just one time and never 3 games back-to-back in the regular season, then that just sums it all up I think.

*note, Tech did win a 3rd straight game when we won the first game of the 2014 A.C.C.T. to add on to the "great" 2-game winning streak at the end of that regular season before losing in the 2nd round

We were contemplating going over to Bon Bon gym., now indebted to you for saving us the trip. Old Bessie our Hyndai, thanks you as well!

I'm excited to hear about the new M.E.G., "betting" the fun in that tournament involves the "strip". What a joke!!

In other news, rumor has it that Stech81 had his arms around Sofia. Possibly an "inflated" story. See what a few Heinies do to these ancient eyes?

Meow, thanks for piling on mate. I know, you are only the messenger. You have "driven us" to Dave and Buster's for the game, although they have stopped following us too this year.

Unlike us, they(Tigers with the lake)actually have played good in that substitute building, the games I've watched.

I'm beyond perplexed as to why we don't do more to get Adam Smith looks at the three.
