The Jackets welcome a popular brand of toothpaste to the Empty House Dan Rad Built. It's great that we have this shiny and relatively new building that nobody wants to go to. But, maybe that will change one day. The biggest crowds in the place are twice a year called Commencement.

Colgate walks in with a 4-6 record. This game is thought so little of in Vegas, it isn't even on the board for betting -- just like the game last night against SELA. After losing to nearby Syracuse in the Carrier Dome by 27 pts, Colgate with their white teeth and fresh breath have won 2 straight games over Utica and New Hampshire.

This should be another W for the Jackets to get to 9-3. Go Tech!!

Side note, the Cesspool is annihilating the Kitty Cats from Auburn With a Lake by 21 pts with 3 minutes left at the dungeon tonight. This will move the Orangenecks to 7-5 on the season in their pre-ACC schedule. The next game for the Kitties is at UNC on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 7pm tip on ESPN-2. Clemson is 0-57 at Chapel Hell.

Now THAT is a losing streak.

In other ACC action Tuesday night, the Deacs at home as 7.5 pt underdogs are taking it to #6 Xavier (11-0) with a 15 pt lead at the half, 43-28. Nice! Go Deacs!!

Damn we are 9-3 ? Can we beat anyone in the ACC?

What a tale of 2 halves in Winston. Xavier outscores Wake 33-13 in the first 12 minutes of the 2nd half to take a 5 pt lead. Whoa!

Brad Brownell's offense looks like a backed up municipal sewage system compared to the Hewitt offense that Bill Simmons bequeathed the "clogged toilet" moniker to. Speaking of Bill Simmons, where did he land after being a victim of downsizing at ESPN?

I feel a letter coming on soon from Dan Rad to the Clemson faithful telling them to get with the program and how Brownell is the same coveted head coach he's always been and how lucky Clemson fans should feel that they have him.

;)

Cal. lost in OT at Va. by one point. Jaylen Brown missed on the last shot. The Golden Bears led the entire game until the last minutes of regulation.

Clemson football is printing money right now, so ole Danny won't feel the pressure to ask for support from basketball.

Clemson looked horrible against the dawgs. If GT can't beat them .... woah

Good luck to the Jackets tonight. I will keep tuned in on the gameday app.

For these types of games I would like to see us open up the student section along the sideline to all comers shortly after tipoff.

If we play against the upcoming ACC schedule the way we looked in the 2nd half at the Cesspool and then much of this first half tonight against a severely undermanned Colgate bunch, then we might win 2 or 3 conference games. This team needs to find another gear.

I don't put much stock in contests like these, but the game at the Cesspool is disturbing. We had no answer for their pick and roll game. After getting burned time and time again with that high screen, adjustments were made but none of them worked. One adjustment that wasn't even attempted was going zone. I'm gonna guess that means the coaching staff knows that we can't run an effective zone. I'm afraid this team might be fundamentally flawed defensively. Either that, or CBG isn't showing his hand ahead of the ACC schedule (how's that for optimism!!!)

Edited to add: I think White getting the start in the last two games is a clear attempt to address the defensive issues with this team.

I hear ya, mate. I think Duquesne will bring a better test. At times, it looked like we were playing a middle school team out there tonight. We looked very good when Smith & Mitchell were on the court at the same time. When Smith, in particular, came out, we looked lethargic.

I thought Jorgy played a good game, btw. His shot looks 622 times better than a year ago now that he is healthy and trusts his knee fully.

A few thoughts from the box score...

*Chuck and Adam scored half our points.
*Heath and Jorgy combined for 10 assists and ZERO turnovers. Pretty damn good.
*Only 7 turnovers by the team is good.
*Team shot 56% from the field. Nice.
*Most glaring team negative was 5 of 11 from the free throw line.
