Matt Kuchar, Cameron Tringale and Bryce Molder will all tee it up this weekend at the BMW Championship in the next-to-last FedEx playoffs event in Lake Forest, IL. This week's event features the top 70 players in the FedEx scoring standings. Molder barely sneaked in at #69 in the standings.
Next week's finale at East Lake CC in Atlanta will feature the top 30 players. Kuchar is currently 20th in the FedEx standings and has a great shot to qualify for Atlanta given he makes the cut this weekend in Illinois. While the FedEx playoff events include 4x the normal points giving Tringale (55th) and Molder (69th) a chance, they likely must be in serious contention to win in Illinois on Sunday or their season is over.
Good luck to these guys and congrats on a solid season. Kooch has won $2.5M this season. He is building a new home up at one of The Cliffs golf communities in Upstate South Carolina. I guess his wife and him get tired of life on St. Simons with all those Cesspool fraternity pricks hanging around there all the time. Tringale has deposited $1.6M in tour winnings this year so far, while both Molder and Hadley come in at just under $1.2M to date.
Kooch will of course be one of the Team USA members in the upcoming Presidents Cup event in South Korea Thursday, Oct. 8, thru Sunday, Oct. 11. Kooch was one of the top 10 points auto qualifiers. Team USA Captain Jay Haas picked 2 captains picks - Bill Haas and Phil Mickelson. Bill is of course Jay's son.
