GT defensive line coach Jess Simpson was in Florida to check out 2026 DT target Freddie Wilson at Spruce Creek High. That's the same school as 2025 signee Derry "Chuck" Norris. Wilson is scheduled to OV to GT on June 13. He had this to say about seeing Simpson and the upcoming visit:
"It went well man. He was here visiting for a solid moment. Chopping it up with him earlier in the day, he was there for the weights and also got a chance to see him on the field showing him what I’m capable of. I really am excited for the GT visit, and I can’t wait to see it all!"
Wilson will also OV to Minnesota May 31, Miami June 6 and Houston June 19.
