2 Georgia schools make best 100 universities in the world

My GSU Panthers are right in that same crowd with Iran University between 401-500. Ahead of Climp-son, but behind VPI and The University of Durham in England.

At least #147 beat out Hokieville.

Thanks for bringing out all this culture and class. We are now as diverse as any Jacket board!

Is Duke's medical school really that good?

I don't find any of the states other top research universities on the list.

Duke Hospital is one of the best in the world. So, I'd say yes.

These rankings are always controversial and ripe to poke holes at, but I particularly like the ones which are global/international instead of just based in America (e.g., USN&WR). It puts Tech in an even shinier light globally and should be no surprise really that we are ranked so high.

I have been blessed to travel the world in my career. No matter where I go, Ga Tech is always recognized. I am flying to Paris thru Dublin Sunday night (hurricane permitting) and will be there next week. I will bet the mortgage that more than once my GT apparel will be recognized and mentioned.

At least your school didn't get combined with KSU.

At one time Southern Tech was a good school . The Southern Technical Institute (now Southern Polytechnic State University) was created as an extension of Georgia Tech in 1948 as a technical trade school for World War II veterans and became an independent university in 1981.
