Fri 12:00 ESPN-2: Miami (7-4/4-3) at Pittsburgh (8-3/6-1)
*Now that the Coastal has been decided, this is a game for improving localities where they will play an additional exhibition game in late December some place. Pitt has a good shot at finishing with a 10-win season which would be outstanding in Narduzzi's first year. Chryst leaving for Wisconsin was the best thing that ever happened for Pitt FB, IMO. The Panthers are laying 6 pts to start the week.

12:00 ESPN-2: Cesspool (8-3/5-3) at Georgia Tech (3-8/1-7)
*Well, this is all that's left for the Jackets to somehow rise up and make folks and themselves smile heading into an important offseason. Not much needed to say here. We all know. Absolute Scum is 4.5 pt favorites. Tech has not beaten the Cesspool at home since 1999. If the Jackets win, a second rushing of the field by the students is warranted...which would be odd that 2 of our 4 wins would have students rushing the field. But, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

12:00 ESPN: #1 Clemson (11-0/8-0) at South Carolina (3-8/1-7)
*Way to Citadel!! LMAO! The Kitty Cats are 17.5 pt favorites heading into Columbia. Last year, the Orangenecks broke a 5-year streak by the Cocks. Now, the tables have turned as Dabo goes for consecutive wins in the series. Clemson leads the all-time series, 66-42-4. This is the 2nd of 4 ACC-SEC state rivalry battles this weekend.

12:00 SEC Network: Louisville (6-5/5-3) at Kentucky (5-6/2-6)
*The Cards are laying 3.5 pts in the Battle of the Bluegrass State. UK defeated perhaps the worst D1A team in the nation, Charlotte, this past Saturday to break a 5-game losing streak. UofL lost at Pitt to break a 4-game winning streak. The Cats lead the all-time series, 14-13, so the Cards have a shot here to tie it up. UofL has won 4 straight in the series and 8 of the last 12...so the seniors have a shot at going out having never lost against the boys in blue. Yet another ACC-SEC state rivalry game.

12:00 ESPN-U: Virginia Tech (5-6/3-4) at Virginia (4-7/3-4)
*Now, this battle in God's Country has a bit of intrigue because its Beamer's last game in the series and if the French win, it is his last ever while the Hokies' nation-leading MEG appearance streak is broken (handing it over to the Cesspool, btw). The Hokies, riding an 11-game winning streak in the series, now lead all-time 54-37-5. They have also won 15 of the last 16 going back to 1999. Going into that game, Virginia was on a 2-game winning streak in the series and the all-time series was a slight lead in VPI&SU's favor at 39-36-5. I think Mike London is out the door, but a win here would at least give him something to smile about on his way out that door. The Hokies are laying 3.5 at Scott Sisson Stadium.

12:30 ACC Network: Duke (6-5/3-4) at Wake Forest (3-8/1-6)
*The Blue Devils have now fallen off the map this season with 4 straight losses. They are laying 4 pts in Winston-Salem. Not sure anybody notices or cares though.

12:30 RSN: Boston College (3-8/0-7) at Syracuse (3-8/1-6)
*Kudos to the Eagles for giving the Irish one helluva game at Fenway Saturday night. The Irish are perhaps learning that ACC FB is not so easy. Yes, they've gone 5-1 against the ACC this year, but the French really should have beaten them, BC was no easy win (and the Eagles are winless in the ACC), and Pitt gave them a battle as well. Having said that, I hope the Irish get into the playoffs with a W over Stanford this week. I'd much rather see them there than other conference schools and I think they deserve it as they have a solid resume' (especially with a W over Stanford if they can get it). BC is laying 3.5 here.

3:30 ABC: #11 North Carolina (10-1/7-0) at NC State (7-4/3-4)
*Who woulda thunk those late game gaffs at Charlotte back on the opening night of D1A CFB season in a terrible looking loss now to the Gamecocks would be the difference in the Tar Holes being in the national title picture? The Tar Holes lead this series 65-33-6. However, the Pack has won 6 of the last 8 including a win at Chapel Hell last year, 35-7. UNC blew a nice 2-TD lead at Blacksburg this past Saturday, but got it done in OT to clinch the Coastal and their first ever appearance in the ACCCG. The Tar Holes have not won an ACC title since 1980. The Pack hasn't won one since 1979 and won't again this year. UNC is laying 7 in Raleigh, but this has upset alert written all over it, IMO.

7:30 ESPN: #14 Florida State (9-2/6-2) at #10 Florida (10-1/7-1)
*The Gators limp into this game coming off a stretch where they had to go to OT in the Swamp to beat Florida Atlantic this past Saturday, did not look good at all defeating a terrible Gamecocks team on the road 24-14, and barely defeating an equally terrible Vandy team at home 9-7. It makes sense that the Noles are laying 2 pts here in the 4th of the ACC-SEC state rivalry games. The Gators lead the all-time series, 34-23-2, though the Noles have won the past 2 and 4 of the last 5.

and some other games of note...

Friday 12:00 ABC: #16 Navy (9-1/7-0) at #21 Houston (10-1/6-1)
*The Mids are on track to get a NYD Bowl bid with a W here and if they can win the AACCG. Same applies to the Cougs, who are coming off a head-scratching loss at UConn. I'll be rooting of course for the Midshipmen, who open as 1 pt favorites in Tejas.

6:30 Fox: #4 Notre Dame (10-1) at #13 Stanford (9-1/8-1)
*The Irish can seal its place in the playoffs IMO with a win here. Though, they'll have to do it as underdogs as the Cardinal are 3.5 pt favorites. Stanford has already cashed its ticket to the Pac12CG where they will face the winner of the UCLA-USC game (3:30 ABC, USC 3 pt favorites).

8:00 ABC: #5 Oklahoma (10-1/7-1) at #9 Oklahoma State (10-1/7-1)
*The winner of this game wins the Big 12 and will definitely have an excellent shot at making the playoffs, especially if OU wins. An OSU win will be debatable. OU was down 17-3 in Week 2 at Knoxville heading into the 4Q before coming back to tie at the end and then win in double overtime. That comeback is looking huge in the playoff picture right now. The Sooners are laying 4 pts.
