The schedule was announced this week 2 of the last 3 years. 10 of our 14 ACC brethren have already announced their schedules along with 2 OOC matches that I could find (see below). Only Clemson, NC State, Virginia and Va Tech have not announced their schedule like us as of 3pm Tuesday, June 21. Oddly, when reviewing Duke's schedule, they don't have our match listed. They do have 19 ACC matches listed when everybody else has 20, so they either missed including ours or it is yet TBD.

From what I've found so far... (edited with note in reply)

Aug. 26, Fri., at Auburn, 8pm
Aug. 27, Sat., vs Pacific (at Auburn), 9:30am
Sep. 8, Thu., KENNESAW STATE, 7pm
Sep. 9, Fri., CESSPOOL, 7pm
Sep. 23, Fri., at Pittsburgh, 7pm (opening night of ACC VB I believe)
Sep. 30, Fri., NORTH CAROLINA, 7pm
Oct. 14, Fri., BOSTON COLLEGE, 7pm
Oct. 16, Sun., SYRACUSE, 1pm
Oct. 21, Fri., at Wake Forest, 6:30pm
Nov. 6, Sun., PITTSBURGH, 1pm
Nov. 12, Sat., at North Carolina, 6pm
Nov. 20, Sun., NOTRE DAME, 1pm (Last home game for big senior class)
Nov. 23, Wed., at Miami, 7pm
Nov. 25, Fri., at Florida State, 1pm

Filling in some blanks/guesses with a bit of logic thrown in...

-Georgia State will be a part of the Sep. 8-9 home tournament hosting programs from the state of Georgia. My guess is we will host GSU Saturday, Sep. 10
-Road match at Virginia Tech is likely to be Sep. 25, Sunday, at 1pm...Pitt and Va Tech are matched when traveling/hosting...we play at Pitt on Sep. 23, Fri.
-We likely host NC State on Oct. 2, Sunday, at 1pm...UNC and NC State are matched when traveling/hosting...we host the Cheaters on Friday
-Road match at Duke is likely to be Oct. 23, Sunday, at 1pm...Duke hosts Clemson on Friday night...we are normally matched with Clemson when traveling/hosting as Duke is with Wake...we play at Wake on Friday night
-We likely host Va Tech on Friday, Nov. 4, at 7pm...same reasoning as above with Pitt/VT
-We likely visit NC State either on Friday, Nov. 11 or Sunday, Nov. 13...same reasoning as above with Cheaters/NCSU

Including the 6 guesses, that's 18 matches accounted for. For the other 13 or 14...

We likely open with 3 or 4 matches at home opening weekend as we have 6 of the last 7 years. Clemson twice, Virginia probably once (at home), and 6 matches on the road in early season tourneys across 2 weekends I'm guessing will round it out. We may pay back a match at Auburn (they traveled to O'Keefe for 1 match last year).

Hopefully, the GTAA releases the schedule soon. This should be a good season for this program with potential to return to the NCAAT.

Meanwhile, Teegan Van Gunst selected to play for U.S. Collegiate National Team... http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/062116aaa.html

Congrats to TVG.

Sweet coverage, Doctor of Volleybees! Thank you for putting this all together!!

Looking to purchase Season Tickets....if anyone wants me to buy a couple more let me know...you included Mr. Bud Light or is it Lite?

Tech will be traveling to Auburn and in fact will be in their season-opening event, The War Eagle Invitational, which will include a game against the Auburn on Aug. 26, Friday, at 8pmET/7pmCT. The match against the Tigers likely at minimum will be streamed live via the SEC Network Plus (same thing as ESPN-3).

Other teams involved include Furman and Pacific. It is possible we will be opening with one of those teams earlier on Friday.

So, we know where we will be opening along with 2 other opponents we can assume the Volleybees will be facing down I-85.

edit note: just checked the Pacific University Athletics page and Tech will face Pacific on Saturday morning, Aug. 27, at 9:30amET/8:30amCT at Auburn.

Kurt, are you able to do any road games on WREK this year? Best volleyball announcer, I've ever heard!

Thanks, JT, for all of the updates(you are the Doctor and Mr. Hoyt is the surgeon)!!

I ditto the kudos to Kurt. He and Beesball Richard are the best. It's too sad that the GTAA has not offered bigger roles for them (if they are interested of course).

*SIGH*

Some notes about the non-ACC opponents...

*Auburn finished a respectable 6th in the SEC last year at 10-8 and was 18-12 overall...including 11-4 at home

*The west coast teams are always good...Pacific went 17-13 overall last year...will be a tough match

*Furman went 21-9 last year and won the SoCon going 12-4...lost to #9 Kansas in the first round of the NCAAT

*Tennessee State went 16-14 overall and 10-6 in the OVC last year

*Michigan went 20-13 overall and 9-11 in the Big 10 last year...they made the NCAAT, won a first round match over Santa Clara 3-1 before losing in the Round of 32 to #14 UCLA closely 3-2

*Kansas State went 17-12 overall and 9-7 in the Big 12 last year...they made the NCAAT and lost in the first round to Wichita State 3-1

*Georgia State went 7-19 overall and 3-13 in the Sun Belt last year

*Kennesaw State went 19-9 overall (including an upset of the Volleybees at Kennesaw) and 9-5 in the A-Sun...but, they missed out on the NCAAT to Lipscomb

*The Cesspool went a pathetic 5-25 overall and 0-18 in the SEC...the Volleybees beat them like a drum yet again...for like the 13th time in the last 14 years or something like that...too lazy to go look it up nowadays

*North Florida went 21-11 overall and 7-7 in the A-Sun last year

*Coastal Carolina gave the Volleybees our only home OOC loss last year...they went 25-5 overall and 14-0 in the Big South...they lost in the first round of the NCAAT to #16 Creighton 3-1...we play them twice at their place which will be very tough

FWIW...SEC Network Plus upcoming schedule now shows season opener at Auburn on Aug. 26, Friday, 8pmET, will be streamed live.

2 weeks from today the Volleybees open the season at Clemson Without A Lake. The TV/streaming schedule has not been released yet and schedule not updated. Last year, this was released in late July and 2 years ago it was released on Aug 12th. I figure the ACC and ESPN are wanting to release the new ACC Network Extra logo/designation and may be a bit of the hold up.

The Official Website for GT Athletics also has not released any schedule for the All-Access PPV package for this fall. This is likely tied to the release of which VB matches will be televised/streamed as the All-Access package normally picks up the leftover home matches which are not televised/streamed.

Hopefully we get some news soon. My subscription to All-Access - whether going with full year or doing it month to month - is awaiting updates.

If you go to theacc.com's volleyball schedule, games are starting to be designated for ACC Network Extra online streaming coverage...including all 3 of Tech's home opening series of matches at O'Keefe (Sep 8 vs Ga State & Kennesaw State...Sep 9 vs Cesspool).

Also, rr.com finally starting to populate some of the All-Access scheduling. So far, just the FB radio shows and 1 volleyball match at Coastal Carolina. Hopefully, we'll see more.

Side note, if you are considering purchasing the All-Access subscription, you can save $10 by doing it monthly instead of an annual subscription...which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but it is what it is.

edit note: 7 of 10 home ACC matches designated for ACC Network Extra live streaming coverage

Wish I could report on the Scrimmage this Saturday, 08-20-16...however I have a special needs movie screening to volunteer for.

Looking forward to this season more than any other recent ones in recollection.

Another ESPN-3 live match listed at WatchESPN... Tech at Kansas State on Sep. 3, Saturday, at 8:30pmET.

I expect an ACC Network Extra official launch statement/release any day now. The WatchESPN site has upcoming matches at ACC home venues listed on opening day of Aug. 26 to be streamed live but with no network affiliation (the ACC Network Extra logo will be added very soon upon release). TheACC.com already has its designations for ACCNE games as included in previous reply.

To view go here... http://www.espn.com/watchespn/ >Upcoming >Select date(s) >Scroll down to bottom to see Volleyball

Here's the GTAA release... http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/081816aaa.html

It does not match what the ACC's list is (some left out from what the ACC lists)...does not include the SEC Network Plus live streaming of the opener at Auburn...does not include the ESPN-3 live streaming at Kansas State. The Auburn and K-State matches are found at WatchESPN.com's upcoming schedule.

And, the All-Access schedule is not updated. *SIGH* (SOS from the SOS at the GTAA)
