Since the SEC and ACC only play 8 conference games, each conference passed a rule stating that each member must play at least one non-conference game against a Power5 Conference opponent....SEC begins this in 2016 and ACC in 2017. Both conferences allowed for Notre Dame and BYU to count as a Power5 opponent. The SEC has now expanded this to include Army.
