In one sense, a rising tide lifts all boats, so yes it is important that our conference is seen in a good light. In another sense, whether or not CU wins tonight doesn't really impact GT football at all. How much it is one or the other is highly debatable, IMO.

To me the big issue is the perception of recruits due to media hype, and therein is the issue for us. We don't get the elite prospects. Most can't get in, and couldn't stay in if they did. You have to be a student to be an athlete at GA Tech. There is no other way. You don't have to be Einstein, but you do have to be able to navigate a rigorous curriculum. So, we get who we get, and I'm not sure that the upside for us is that big.

The biggest benefit is we don't have to put up with all the ya-ya from SEC types all year long. Those guys are like white on rice around these parts.
