Good luck to the Golfing J's at St. Andrews this week in the Open Championship. Some intriguing pairings for Thursday and Friday listed below. Of course, 3 Jackets have won this championship...Bobby Jones, David Duval and Stewart Cink. Matt Kuchar is coming off a nice showing at the Scotland Open where he finished 2nd. A little frustrating for him though as he was in prime position to win and was overtaken by winner, Rickie Fowler. Tringale finished 53rd. Ollie did make the cut, but finished 77th.

ESPN's live coverage schedule is as follows:
Thursday & Friday: 4am-3pmET
Saturday: 7am-2:30pmET
Sunday: 6am-1:30pmET

Tee times and pairings (Eastern Time)

-Ollie Schniederjans (a) paired with Webb Simpson (USA) and Graeme McDowell (Northern Ireland)
Thursday: 3:22am
Friday: 8:23am

-David Duval and Stewart Cink paired with Ben Curtis (USA)
Thursday: 5:17am
Friday: 10:18am

-Cameron Tringale paired with Richie Ramsay (Scotland) and Pablo Larrazabal (Spain)
Thursday: 7:06am
Friday: 2:05am

-Matt Kuchar paired with Phil Mickelson (USA) and Henrik Stenson (Sweden)
Thursday: 9:34am
Friday: 4:33am

Side note: Former Jacket golfer, Richy Werenski, makes his PGA debut this weekend at The Barbasol Championship in Opelika, Alabama. This special exemption was part of his winning The Big Break reality show competition on the Golf Channel. Roberto Castro, Troy Matteson, Nick Thompson, and Chesson Hadley will join Werenski in Alabama.

I'd love to see them all make the cut.

I also hope Duvall has a good game. I really enjoyed watching him at his best, He never really recovered from the injury.

Tringale starts his first round -5 thru 7 holes before parring 8 straight holes heading into #16. He triple bogeys #16 and then bogeys #17 to finish -1. Frustrating finish for him.

Ollie shoots a respectable -2. There are 4 amateurs ahead of him (2 at -5 and 2 at -3).

Cink also finishes at -2 and Duval goes even par. Kooch is finishing up his round - currently -2 heading into #17. edit note: Kooch bogeyed #17 and finished -1.

Low scores across the board for Day 1. Calling for yucky rain Friday morning. The good news is that all 5 Jackets are teeing off in the afternoon after the heavier rains are supposed to roll past so the greens may be softer with a little better weather to deal with.

After 3-4 hour rain delay early Friday morning, revised tee times...

Tringale: -2 thru 10 holes, -3 for the Open
Kuchar: 7:47amET
Ollie: 11:37amET
Cink & Duval: 1:32pmET (with a 6:32pm local time tee off, we can assume their round will be completed Saturday morning)

I expected the rain delay. The conditions should get better as the day goes.

It would be great to see them all make the cut.

Werenski makes the cut. Awesome! 4 of the 5 Jackets in Alabama make the cut. Only Nick Thompson missed it.

While none are in contention to win it, good to see ALL FIVE JACKETS made the cut. Especially great to see Duval playing on the weekend as well as Ollie. Ollie is within striking distance for low amateur.

Only Nick Thompson was cut in Alabama. Good to see Werenski getting some kind of payday Sunday.

Great to see David Duval fire a 5-under 67 this morning in Round 3. The course is playing much easier as lots of guys are firing some seriously low scores so far. Round 4 will of course be played on Monday due to all the weather issues Friday & Saturday. With a strong back nine, Tringale has the best shot in Round 3 of playing his way into contention for Monday.

Great to see Ollie do so well and Cink right along with him. Ollie turns pro now. Duval making the cut was a nice surprise also.

Ollie finished tied for 2nd in low amateur. Top amateur goes to Jordan Niebrugge (USA) who finished at -11. Niebrugge, from the St. Louis area, plays at Oklahoma State.

Spieth finished 1 stroke out of the playoff so the Grand Slam lives another year unrealized.
